'Baldwin' Over the Knee Boot (Nordstrom Exclusive)

Nice color and the heel was the way I like my boots. But the calf was huge and it could expansion another inch. But no way to make it smaller. Note to Nordstrom: having a larger shoe size does not equate to a larger calf size. I wear a 10. But my calf size fits into an 8. I would recommend for people with large calf size.

I wanted to love these; as a tall girl who's all legs (inseam 35-36") with skinny ankles and calves, even knee-high boots that aren't too wide and too short are essentially a pipe dream, otk boots are that much more difficult to fit so I've essentially given up on them barring some windfall allowing me to have them custom made. After reading the measurements and reviews for these boots I had a brief glimmer of hope and took a chance on the leather in burly brown. The leather is lovely, looks high quality, only bone to pick is that the elastic running all the way up the back is a contrasting black color which makes it stand out quite a bit; this is not apparent in the online photos as only the grey suede is shown from the back and that elastic is a much more subtle matching grey color. I hate the look of elastic breaking up a leather boot and might not have bought them had I known it'd be so blatant, but once they were here i rationalized that I'd be willing to put up with it if by some chance the boots fit well. Alas, it wasn't to be. They were the closest I've come, but still the top front came awkwardly to just above the bottom of my knees and the circumference, while again close, was slightly loose which would have been tolerable except that because of the height difference, it widened about two inches below my calves and just looked goofy. Goofiness confirmed further when I tried the folded-down look; once again, too-short not-quite-knee-high boots with slightly baggy ankles and the too-low calves further emphasized. I tried them with leggings, jeans and dresses for several days hoping they'd grow on me, and frankly if it weren't for the black elastic I might've just given in and kept them, but in the end I couldn't overlook it all and I sent them back. They were overall very lovely and great quality especially for the price, so if you're average-to-tall (5'9" or less with some of your height in your torso!) and your legs are on the leaner side but not toothpicks like mine, you'll likely love the way these boots fit. I normally wear an 8.5-9 in boots and these fit my foot perfectly in an 8.5; they seemed like they'd be very comfortable but I didn't get a chance to find out... I had bought the gray suede and decided to return them because 1. I live in a place where it rains nonstop they would get destroyed (even though they are super cute) the color is a little darker in person. 2. They run true to size (other Vince boots I have ordered run about 1/2 small) I decided to get the brown which is a nice rich dark brown. I am 5'5 and they hit just right about the knee. (I have long legs) I also noticed that the 7 was fitted better around my calves than the 7.5 which was pretty roomy. Cant wait to wear these this fall!

I have been looking for a grey suede over-the-knee boot for years and I have finally found the perfect pair! These boots are so comfortable and can be dressed up or down. The color has a slight brown hue that makes them very flexible to coordinate with. The boot height is also just right. I wore these to a concert recently and my feet were happy as can be. I also had to walk about a mile that night to get to and from the venue and I was completely comfortable. Every time I wear them I get compliments. You won't be sorry you made this purchase!!

While these boots are not quite the same quality as I would usually buy (Stuart Weitzman, Frye, etc.) -no leather lining or sole, and not the well-cushioned sole ... they really fill the niche of the grey boot I've bee searching for. -- Also, the fit is excellent. The shaft fits perfectly through the calf, over the knee, and to the thigh, with NO slouching at the ankles, knees or top. I've found my calves are on the smaller side for fitting boots -a 14"-15" shaft fits best, but they are toned/muscular. So while I think the shaft is slim, I think average sized calves would fit well. The richness of the suede, the beautifully simple design, and the slight heel lend these boots a luxurious look with incredible range -they can be worn with skinny denim and leggings, or a great dress --they look stunning with the green-blue Missoni I also got at the Anniversary event. ..... And the PRICE -$100s less than what I typically pay for boots!

I was looking for a tall boot to wear with skinnies and skirts, to work and casual outings, preferably with the lowest heel possible. Despite the heel, these caught my eye in black leather. I wear a size 12M, only because an 11.5 is not available, and found the sole length and width true to size. The boot's shaft, however, is another story. I'm a tall but normal sized person, and the boot shaft on the size 12 is very large, 16" I believe. The "too baggy fit" creates a bunched, slouchy look, not complimentary to the smooth leather and sculpted foot, and not sleek enough for a work outfit. One last thing, the back of the shaft is 19" tall to the top of the elastic, and I found that the elastic would touch the back of my bending knees -- a bit irritating -- and I'm 5'10".
