Sohelia Bootie (Women)

I have been on a quest to purchase a boot similar to the Saint Laurent Dorian ankle boot--but without the $1700 price tag. After some digging online on various retailers, I found this one and also the Rag & Bone Hazel which is priced $100 less. But if you are going to spend $495 for the Rag & Bone, I highly recommend looking at Veronica Beard too. For quality, VB wins hands down. When I put the two side by side, the VB leather is shinier and more supple, the sole thicker and all-leather (RB sole is partial leather and rubber--some might prefer that.) The VB shaft is about an inch taller. Style wise, the VB toe is a little more pointy and has gold hardware, whereas the RB has silver. The RB ankle strap is very thin, whereas this one is about twice as thick and twice as wide. For $100 more, I wholeheartedly choose VB over the RB--no contest. I found this VB style TTS, my only dilemma is that the VB width was slightly narrower so I will need to either stretch it or size up (I have slightly wide feet). The RB was admittedly a little more comfortable out of the box due to its rounder toe...but I still prefer the higher quality so I will go with the VB and get some boot stretchers!

Beautiful style, heel height and quality but way too tight. I ordered a 6 1/2 which is my usual size (in Cole Haan, Stuart Weitzman, Frye, etc.) but couldn't even get my foot into these boots. There is no zipper and you have to unwrap the two straps, then try to slide into the boot from the top. This boot is not available in my local store so unsure what size to purchase. I will just return these and find another boot with a zipper.
