worth the wait

I saw these shoes last year at the holiday party circuit. I couldn't afford them last year, and purchased a pair of red patent flats that cost about 12 dollars as a replacement. This year my family and I have gone through a few challenges to say the least, births, deaths, and illness. I told myself if I could make it to December, I was going to treat myself to the "rockstud". Well, I barely made it, but I purchased the "rockstud" as a way to reward myself for enduring adversity. Nordstrom was kind enough to let me use 3 different methods of payment, and these babies were shipped to me in 2 days. THEY ARE WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY, and make me so happy this holiday season, when it will be a difficult one to say the least. These shoes are beautiful, comfortable, and the perfect red to say Merry Christmas. (and bring a smile to my heart year round, when it may otherwise be hard to.) Thank you for making such a beautiful shoe.

Studs fall off

I have a couple pairs of rockstud shoes and although I love the way they look, the studs all fall off. For this price, the shoes should be of better quality.

worth the wait

Studs fall off

Go at least 1/2 up

I am a US7 and true IT37. If you are like me you should definitely go half a size up. I tried both the 37 and 37.5 in both regular and patent leather and the 37.5 always felt more comfortable straight out of the box. I think the 38 would be much too big (or at least require a LOT of padding). The 37 definitely "fit" but it was tight. I have absolutely no faith in these shoes (regular leather or patent) to loosen up. Save yourself having to wear blister plasters and go at least half a size up!

Valentino "Rockstuds"

Beautiful shoe, unfortunately I had to return. After lusting after all the Valentino "Rockstud" shoes, finally ordered the flats. I have a medium width foot, and the width of the shoe was not the problem. It is just too shallow. I don't care for a shoe that you can see under my arches and so much of my foot. I felt that it wouldn't stay on properly as well. Perhaps sizing down? would help, but I just didn't care for the low profile of this on the sides of my feet. Glad at least to have seen a pair in person, and given them a try. I'm sure others can wear this without a problem, just didn't work for me.

1/2 size down for smaller sizes

I looooove Valentino shoes. They are comfortable due to a wide toe box and great construction. For the heels I wear a 35. In these I had to size down to a 34.5. My friend is normally a 4.5 to a 5 and she had to get a 34. Typically general sizing advice rarely applies to the smaller sizes and I find this to be true for this shoe as well. I'm a true size 5 and in boots wear a 5.5 for socks/comfort. My foot is wide at the front and is a little chubby at the top hence my sizing preferences. But yeah, I had to size DOWN in these.

Gorgeous but too small

I have been obsessing over this rockstud line since discovering it. I am an American size 10B and have 2 other rockstud styles that are heels in size 41/11. However, these are a different story. I tried the 41 in red at the store and though it was the most beautiful flat I have ever seen, it was too small. I think I would need a 41.5, which I had to find elsewhere because Nordstrom did not carry this size. The front of the shoe is tight fitting and if you have any bunion action going on the tightness is going to aggravate that. Also the vamp is lower than say it would be on a Tory Burch flat, which limits the space in the front of the shoe. That said, I went up 1.5 sizes as opposed to my usual 1 size up.
