Dyson's lightest intelligent cordless vacuum with laser illumination and the power, intelligence, versatility and run time to deep clean your whole home.
What it does: Running up to 60 minutes on a charge (actual run time will vary based on power mode and/or attachments used), it intelligently optimizes suction and run time based on dust level using a Piezo sensor to automatically sense debris level and adapt suction for the right balance of power and run time when you need it.
Additional features: The laser reveals microscopic dust on hard floors, so you don’t miss anything. An LCD screen displays scientific proof of a deep clean, run time and power mode. The Laser Slim Fluffy™ reveals hidden dust on hard floors. The Motorbar™ deep cleans carpets and hard floors with de-tangling technology. It converts to a handheld for cleaning cars, stairs and upholstery. The V12 Detect Slim traps 99.99% of particles, dust and allergens as small as 0.3 microns in Boost mode. All other modes achieve at least 99.97% filtration. Washable filter can be reused for the lifetime of the machine, reducing waste.
Includes: Vacuum and wall-mounted charging dock. Five Dyson-Engineered tools, including the Laser Slim Fluffy™, Motorbar™ and the innovative hair screw tool for removing pet hair.

Great suction and visibility with the light
I purchased this vacuum after using one that a friend has. This is one really nice vacuum, has great suction and the battery seems to last a good while. The light is incredibly good at showing where the dust is. the filtration works great and is easy to clean. Turns extremely well and feels great while you are using it. I can't find anything I don't like about it. Great vacuum!

Works for Us
Ample suction and smooth vacuuming ergonomics. Easy to maneuver with added bonus of a green light that clearly shows dust and other particles to simplify vacuuming. While the battery last for around 40 minutes at continuous use, I've never had it run out on me during a cleaning session. Easy to see dirt repository and simple to empty (no bags to deal with either - bonus).

Love my new Dyson V12
My new V12 is lighter than my older V8, which makes it much easier for me to use. The height of the Fluffy head is lower than my older Dyson and lets me go under most of the furniture. I love the light on the Fluffy head that shows all the dust on my beige tile floors.

Great for a small house
I have a small house with hardwood floors + area rugs. This lightweight vac works well for this situation, much more so than the upright (also Dyson) vac it replaced. The V12 is easy to maneuver in tight spaces. If the space is visibly dusty the smallish bin fills up quickly, but it is easy to empty so I don't find this a problem. With a dog in the house, the convenience of being able to easily pull out the cordless vacuum for a quick pickup way more than compensates for having to empty it somewhat frequently. I purchased a third party stand for the vac since there was not a convenient wall space for mounting and this works fine to hold the vacuum and accessories.
The laser light on the hardwood floor head definitely shows up dust that is hard to see otherwise. I've quickly come to the conclusion that trying to get up every last speck is a fool's errand - even what I would consider a decently clean floor will still show some dust under the laser light. I've decided that's OK and don't worry about it.
When trying to vacuum up large bits (like a chewed up dog toy) it is possible to clog the head. Rather than run and overheat or burn out the motor, the machine senses this and comes to a graceful stop. Once unclogged (by hand) it can easily be restarted. For visible piles of big stuff, an initial once over with dustpan and broom avoids the problem, but if you do catch something accidentally (under the furniture, say) it is nice to know that the vacuum will not self destruct.
