Beas Jacket

My husband said that this looks like a pea coat and it is certainly pea coat inspired. I was really looking for more of a blazer and this is not that. This is a lightweight coat. Here in the south, this could be your winter coat on all but the 3 really cold days we have in January. It is a fully lined wool coat and was heavier than I expected. The wool is light to medium weight made heavier by the full lining. However, it was way, way too small in the upper arms but big enough in the belly and bust, which is so odd and impossible to fix with tailoring. I've ordered several items direct from Universal Standard and have found in all of them that the sizing is unfortunately just weird. Who has a big bust and belly but tiny upper arms? Also, they are unfortunately drop shipping these items and, therefore, have the same delivery issues as ordering direct. It took 10 days for me to get this; 10-14 days seems to be the regular delivery time with Universal Standard. It is excellently constructed, which is why it gets three stars. So few plus sized clothes are. If you need a lighter weight winter coat, you might try ordering a size (or two) up and having it tailored.

This is a beautifully cut jacket in a medium coating weight. It is fully lined and will easily handle cool weather. This is not a blazer. It is definitely outer-wear. The cut is chic and unusual without being too trendy or too Junior. This US coat has sophistication and style. It is generously cut but not too voluminous. It's got shape. The sleeves are on the longer side which is great if you need them. If not you can always have them hemmed. US is expensive looking, quality clothing that is well made in excellent fabrics. It is fashion forward and has an edge. Wonderful company.
