I loved the dress, but not the packaging.
The dress itself is absolutely beautiful, and I truly love how it looks and fits. However, I have to say that I was quite disappointed when I first opened the package. The dress arrived extremely wrinkled and crushed because it was shipped only in the store's garment bag.
This was especially disappointing because this is a beautiful silk dress priced at $800. I had actually ordered the same dress in a smaller size from another retailer and it arrived beautifully presented, carefully wrapped and packaged in a box. I returned it only because the size didn't work for me, and I was very happy to find it again in the correct size at Nordstrom.
Unfortunately, the presentation this time was completely different. Even though the dress looked lovely on me once I tried it on, seeing such a beautiful and expensive silk garment arrive so badly wrinkled it took away from the excitement of receiving it.
For an item at this price point, I would expect the care and presentation to reflect the quality of the piece. Delicate, higher-priced garments should be properly protected and shipped in a box so they arrive in the condition in which they were intended to be received.
I absolutely love the dress, but I sincerely hope Nordstrom will reconsider its packaging for delicate and higher-priced items. First impressions really do matter.
