What it is: A spot treatment formulated with 2% salicylic acid, 4% niacinamide and bio-based licorice root to help reduce and clear acne.
Key ingredients:
- 2% salicylic acid: a medicated beta-hydroxy acid that helps to clear acne while exfoliating and refining skin texture
- 4% niacinamide: known to help visibly brighten skin and marks and it can help balance skin's surface oil
- 0.2% biobased licorice root: known for soothing and calming properties
How to use: Apply one drop of the solution to fingertip. Dab directly on pimple. Spread into a thin layer as a last step in your skin-care routine (without over-rubbing). Allow Kiehl's salicylic acne patch to fully dry before applying sunscreen and/or makeup. Can be applied in the morning and evening.

Very runny liquid
Spreads everywhere. It’s so watery that after I apply it it just runs down my face. I like the idea of a targeted pimple patch that’s not as visible as the sticker patches. But I expected a thicker consistency. I’m not sure if it works or not because it also doesn’t give the same tingling sensation the original blue spot herbal sensation did.

It's decent
It dries into a clear, slightly sticky layer. It works okay, I wish it was a bit thicker liquid to make application easier, and the concentration of salicylic acid is a bit low for a spot treatment (maybe 5% would be more effective).

Better than a pimple patch
I love this spot treatment! It is truly the best acne product I have ever tried in my life and I’m almost 30. In the past I’d accidentally worn pimple patches out of the house, not really trusting it would do anything to help. But I can wear this without it being noticed and trust that it’s working. Thanks Kiehls! I do recommend to everyone: drop the serum on your hand and apply it with clean hands.
