Small Hobo Bag

I really agonized over whether to get the big hobo or the small one. I carefully looked at pictures, then Nordstrom review videos, and reviews on YouTube Tube to try and get a sense of the sizes. I am short and petite and was worried the large would overwhelm me. Based on most of what I could tell from the information I found, I decided to order the small. I wish I had just ordered each size instead so I could have compared them together. At first, I thought maybe I could make the small work. But the more I thought about it, I wanted an oversized slouchy hobo and the small size was just too small for that, and in the small leather, a little too structured even though it’s soft. I also chose the wild mushroom color. The color is pretty, but for me, also a mistake. Shortly after receiving the bag, I decided to stop trying to convince myself this was the bag I wanted. I went to Nordstrom in person and compared the bags. Ultimately, I went with the bigger size. What I was looking for is a bag that I can throw and go. When I looked at the smaller one, it would require careful decisions about what I could bring and what I couldn’t. When I tested putting my things it in, it was like Tetris. It would fit a normal wallet and some other items, but not my makeup bag without being filled to top. As far as the color, I also decided that, while pretty, it was kind of an odd color to match with my wardrobe. The silver hardware did look pretty against the taupe color. I decided to return this bag and ended up getting the bigger hobo suede bag in Park Bench. It’s gorgeous. This is a great LITTLE bag. The adjustable strap is nice. You just need to decide what’s the purpose of the bag in order to choose the right size for you.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my new everyday bag. It is really on trend. It’s sturdy and I love the pebbled leather. I love the large knob and buckle to adjust the strap. Lots of room inside. I’m not giving it 5 stars because it does t have the protective feet on the bottom, the clasp to secure the middle is not up to Tory Burch quality, and the little side interior pouch is secured by stitching that breaks up the clean appearance of the exterior. The price is too high for these reasons otherwise I really enjoy the bag.
