What it is: A medium- to full-coverage foundation with three-dimensional radiance that reflects soft light.
What it does: The fade-resistant moisturizing, nourishing and protecting formula contains a blend of advanced elastomers and light-diffusing powders to create the perfect radiant surface. Designed to create the appearance of flawless skin, this foundation also nourishes with breathable protection and is infused with hyaluronic acid to moisturize for a plump, dewy look. A trio of natural oils including balsam copaiba, andiroba, açai and anti-inflammatory noni fruit extract nourish and calm the skin while broad-spectrum SPF 50 helps protect from the harmful effects of the sun.

In a consumer test on 104 women immediately after use:

I so wanted not to like this foundation as it’s so expensive. I purchased 4 different foundations for my very dry skin. I’m 47and never really took care of my skin. I love this foundation, it’s smooth and soft, the finish is beautiful and there’s no way I’m keeping any of the other ones I bought. I alternated the Armani, Laura mercier, Anastasia and NARS and none of them compete with this Tom Ford. I just love it! The photos are in different light with and without a flash.

Another miss
I have never had good luck with Tom Ford cosmetics, with the exception of the Soleil bronzer. This foundation looked incredible in so many YouTube videos that I decided to give it a try.
I have incredibly oily skin, to the point I get “micro Botox” to minimize my pores and halt oil production. This foundation made me look SO DRY. It sat on top of my skin with a powdery-white cast finish, no shine, and no moisture. If anything I was expecting the exact opposite, which is why I tested the product out first.
I love Tom Ford as a designer and I love his fragrances, but I am not going to be trying any more cosmetics from his collection.

Just Not Blown Away
I wanted to love this so bad...the description sounded perfect for what I wanted in a foundation! I’m 41 and have normal-to-dry skin with some fine lines, but otherwise pretty good. This foundation does blend out well, has a nice creamy consistency, and it looks gorgeous for about 5 minutes until it dries down. Then the “glow” just sort of vanishes and it magnifies every pore and line on my face. As the day wears on, my face feels dry and tight and the foundation accentuates imperfections even more. It doesn’t matter what primer or skincare I use underneath, or even if I don’t use primer at all...the finish goes blah on my skin for some reason. I’m beyond bummed about this, as I had such high hopes.
If you’re sensitive to the scent of lavender, you may want to test this first, as the lavender smell is pretty strong upon initial application. Coverage is versatile and can be sheer or built up to a stout medium...any more than that and it looked pretty makeup-y on my skin. Judging by the ingredients, I thought this would be a sure fire win, but unfortunately it just isn’t at all.
A word of caution...this shades do not run consistent with other formulas from the brand. I typically wear shades in the 1.5-2.0 range in TF foundations, but in this one I am shade 3.7 in this one and could get by with 4.7 as well.
Considering the hefty price tag, I would strongly suggest a sample before splurging on this one, it’s a finicky bugger.

My new obsession
This looks so smoothing on the skin and hydrating. A little goes such a long way. I bought this in the shade 7 (Tawny) its a little dark for me right now but in the summer I’m a shade 7 in all the other TF foundations. My usual color is 6.5 and in this formula 6.5 pulled so orange. If you’re the same skin tone as me I would go with 5.7 which was more neutral and 7 which is neutral as well. I would recommend! I’m combo oily skin and this works like a dream for me.

Let’s just start with... this foundation comes at a cost. Yes it’s expensive. If you can get past that then try it! The finish is like pure radiance and gorgeousness. It had excellent coverage. The skin benefits are what makes the purchase worth it to me. Lasts all day long and even better with a primer or setting powder. I haven’t loved other TF foundations... but this one I am pretty obsessed about!

holy grail foundation
Perfect foundation for special events! Gives a very subtle glow to the skin and provides just enough coverage to not look cakey! The spf is a bonus. Definitely a splurge but worth it!
