Carlin Sneaker

I had been looking to add a designer dress sneaker, in white, for some time. I narrowed it down to this model based on reviews and overall design. I am not sure about others but i found them to run a size larger and narrow. I normally wear a size 10 and they measured at least a full size bigger. I dropped down to a 9.5 and the overall length was exactly a 10. With the drop down in size came a narrower shoe. Wearing a sock would make it a tight fit but wasn't looking to wear socks with this style anyway. With no sock the fit was tight. When sliding in your bare foot the leather sticks to the skin and can make it a chore to slip in. I found myself stretching the laces and pulling up the tongue quite a bit. I should note that i have a medium-high instep. For some of you it will make a difference. I am hoping with more wear the leather will stretch and be more receptive. After two nights out that has not been the case. I find the leather (tongue and interior leather) to be less inviting and supple than say, Allen Edmond's. Especially to a bare foot with a tall instep. Although I like the overall look of the should there are a let better shoes out there at this price point. PROS: Stylish shoe, form fitting, great dressed up or down CONS: Narrow, low instep, runs 1/2 size large, firm leather, sticks to skin, somatosensation is that of a low quality sneaker.
