Plaid Coat with Bib Hoodie

I get that it’s an affordable price point (especially in the sale), but the quality on this one was just too chintzy for me, even at the bargain price. I really wanted to love it because the plaid is fun, but the coat material was thin and weirdly slick and the hoodie bib felt like a cheap sweatshirt (thin, no structure). I ended up going with the Lucky Brand version of this style which is also in the Anniversary Sale. Maybe if I hadn’t been comparing them side by side I wouldn’t have judged this one so harshly, but the Lucky Brand one just feels much for substantial and had nicer detailing.

I ordered a size large for an oversized fit, though I normally wear a medium. The material is incredibly soft and cozy, but it felt too lightweight for layering in the colder PNW fall and winter months. Ultimately, I decided to return it because I need something a bit warmer, but it would be perfect for milder climates or early fall.

I really loved the look of this. It’s warm and soft on the outside and it’s perfectly oversized. The look is casual but doesn’t look frumpy. I am always an XS in this brand so that’s why I say it’s true to size. The inside hoodie zips up wonderfully and it’s still a relaxed fit. (Compared to other brands, I would say this brand generally runs large.) Now, the bad part and why I returned this. The inside is not lined. I trued this on for less than 4 minutes and I could not wait to take it off. The material from the outside pokes through the inside. If things like wool sweaters that are itchy bother you, stay far away from this! So sad because it’s otherwise perfection.
