'Mirzi' Rib Knit Merino Wool Sweater

I ordered this originally in a medium, and I usually take a small, however, even the medium felt sheer and tight to me, so I returned it and got a large. The large was long in the arms, and had those ridges you get when ribbed wool is loose, but at least it felt substantial, less sheer and less almost transparent, and this was in black. I really like the wool fabric, in that it is very fine, so looks great, not bulky, and does work with different outfits, but after considering my options, and noticing over and over again how truly thin and light and sheer this fabric is for a winter piece, I ended up returning it. I will be in Europe in December and January, and I need wool pieces for warmth, durability and versatility. This piece is not going to protect me much from wind and cold, and so although it has a nice look, is a beautiful fabric and could be a nice piece in a very temperate winter climate, I need something less sheer, a bit tougher, with a closer weave, and probably, in the final analysis, more durable ~
