Best way to use this bag
I bought the carry on and the weekend duffle during last years Anniversary sale and noticed a varying number of reviews so thought I'd throw this out. Personally, I wouldn't use this by itself for a weened getaway as it is heavy and while I never used the strap to carry it others have indicated it can tear. I loved this bag for US travel (would not do overseas due to its size). What I do is place this on the carry on which takes all the weight off the bag and my shoulders. It slides nicely and just sits on the luggage so falling off was never a problem. I have a small purse that I put inside so that this becomes my 'personal' item. I also read people indicating it doesn't go under the seat - if you fill it up, no it won't go under the seat as it's too sturdy to fold that way. What I did was use the bottom part as the portion for 'luggage' and was able to put either shoes or fill it with lots of smaller, heavier things I brought back from my trips. I then used the large opening for my small purse, a book, pills, papers and small items that enabled me to still fold the bag down. When folded this way it WILL fit under the seat (with no room to spare) and I've never been stopped using it as a 'personal' item within the US. If you want to use this on it's own I might think twice due to the weight and potential strap issues. As I never used the strap to carry it I can't comment on whether it would break. I simply removed the large strap and put it directly on the carry on. The bottom opening is large enough to include quite a bit and the middle part and side have good zipper options for papers, phone, etc.

Don’t buy- broke within 5 minutes of use
I am so disappointed with the quality of this product. I purchased this bag for a 3-week Europe trip and not even 5 minutes after getting through airport security the ring/leather piece where the crossbody strap attaches to the bag ripped off. I’m now not only unable to use the crossbody stray but the hand it ripped off from is slowly coming undone. If that handle does come off I will be left carrying the bag under my arm for three weeks. SO disappointed.

Cute but not functional
This bag is so cute but when you fill it up, it’s really heavy. It’s not ideal to carry over the shoulder and it doesn’t fit under the plane seat easily. I would only use this bag if I was going on a road trip where I could easily load it in a car. Beis also doesn’t have the best customer service. I ended up returning it and getting the CalPak Luka duffle cuz it fits a lot, isn’t heavy, better material, and still feels compact. I also personally prefer the Beis Sport Tote and the Beis Travel Backpack.

Disappointing
Took this on one flight and the strap that can hook to your checked bag already ripped in the first use. Super disappointed. Would have loved it otherwise.

faulty construction
The stitching came undone on the first use in two areas: attachment of shoulder strap to the bag and the side pocket where the bag can be slid over the handle of your carry on bag.

light weight limit warning ?
Loved this bag until the long strap ripped off one of the handles - I guess due to weight? The bag itself is sturdy, but a decent weight already, so I packed only light summer clothes and small toiletries for a 2hr flight and we didn’t make it onto the plane without a broken carry on bag. Sad
