The Sling Leather Crossbody Bag

I normally love Madewell products and their handbags, however this Crossbody purse was not made well. The quality of the product is poor. The faux leather is stiff. The strap did not adjust more than an inch or two. Looks cheaply made for the price. Would not recommend purchasing.

First, let me say that I also bought this bag in True Black and it is fantastic! BUT… Somebody used this particular purse, returned it, and then Nordstrom sold it to me as a New item. Signs of wear on the outside are small, but they’re there. When I opened the bag, I immediately saw a pill and also flakes of something on the lining, especially throughout the bottom. It is disappointing that nobody at Nordstrom checked the condition of this purse upon its return, or at any time before re-selling it. Unfortunately I cannot find another one of these available in Harvest Moon through Nordstrom, or Madewell, or any other retailer. So, I may have to clean it up instead of returning it. I am not delighted about this, especially because I paid full price for this purse.

I gave this bag 3 stars instead of one simply because its Madewell & I love all things Madewell. I have two Madewell bags that I adore. Sadly, I returned this one. The quality of this bag just fell short for me. It felt very cheap. For the price I couldn't justify keeping it. On a positive note, the style & size were both 5 stars.

I hunted a long time to find this bag, which seemed like the right size and that lovely little side pocket and not a lot of pocket inside. The side pocket doesn’t exist. There is no zipper on the outside. Unfortunately, there is stitching from the inside pocket showing up on the outside of the bag, which looks hideous. I’ve never been so disappointment pointed Nordstrom product. Returning it doesn’t seem quite enough compensation.
