beautiful but runs extremely small

Really beautiful dress! The material is nice and it has a little stretch but this runs EXTREMELY small . I’m normally a size 6 in dresses and sometimes 8 in pants and have a curvy with hourglass figure. I couldn’t even get the M over my thighs . I ended up with the XL and it fits well! I’m a 28G bra and the top is a little loose but I’m also 5’3 so probably more that the halter is meant for someone taller. I’m 140lbs
