The Perfect Vintage High Waist Wide Leg Jeans

I just got these jeans on the anniversary sale and I love them! Perfect dark denim wash (a bit darker than in the pictures in my opinion but I actually like it). Super comfy just a tiny bit stretchy, but still feels like substantial denim fabric. I am short (5’3”), and I can wear these with a medium heel, so it’s very good inseam for shorter ladies.

It’s a great fit but just too short for this 5’9” mid-40s lady. I could get away with them now but fear shrinkage (and still want my jeans to either be clearly ankle or 2 inches longer)

I’m just under 5’4” with a long torso and short legs. I carry my weight in my hips and thighs. These are so flattering on me! I have a closet full of premium denim and these are probably the most flattering pair I own. The length is good with a pair of small-heeled boots.

As other reviewers have noted, these jeans are too short, and I'm only 5'4". They don't even touch the ground in bare feet, so no way I could wear them with a boot as shown on the model. They are a true high rise and very stretchy.

Loved the fit and dark color of these jeans. They had good structure but with enough stretch to make them comfy. True to size - I got my normal size 27. However, the inseam seemed shorter than the listed 31 inches - it was awkwardly too short for my 5’7 frame and definitely too short for any kind of heel, as is shown on the model. Ladies 5’5 and under, these are perfect for you! Sadly, they are going to be a return for me.

This is my 2nd pair of the vintage high waist wide leg jeans by Madewell, and I absolutely love them! The waist hits just right, the cut hugs the backside and hips very well for my figure, and the fit across the thighs is perfect. At 5’6” the length is great—long enough that I can wear a platform shoe without looking goofy, yet short enough to wear flats without dragging along the ground. More colors in this style, please!
