read the description and look at the pictures
Nothing irritates me more than reading reviews prior to buying an item...and they all read the same: no zipper, it’s boxy, it’s too big. ALL of this is in description, the photos AND the video! These reviews are useless - complaining about something you knew about prior to purchase - and serve no purpose. Kinda of like mine only I’m pointing out the obvious so snowflakes can’t complain skewing the ratings. Reviews should be based in fact, no ignorance & stupidity.
Even if you don’t read, the photos CLEARLY show NO ZIPPER but button closure! Why are you complaining about no zipper?
Why are you knocking an item because you can’t read or be bothered to pay attention to what is in front of you?
BOXY is a design cut. BOXY doesn’t mean ‘too big!’ If you don’t like a boxy cut then don’t order. Or adjust the sizing to your tastes.
Currently price matched and the price is good. Great rainjacket. Again, boxy cut so ordering TTS should accommodate bulk sweaters or layers without incident. That is, unless you ignore your true size and order smaller than what you are so there’s no room.
This is a hip length jacket. If you are petite it will be longer on you.

Love Northface, Hate this jacket.
I LOVE Northface Brand for winter coats. I bought a coat about 8 years ago and it is still in amazing condition. That being said, I was excited about this raincoat from a brand I trust but was extremely disappointed when this jacket arrived. This jacket is very thin and while lined, does not seem like it is actually waterproof (just water resistant). I live in Seattle where I need a heavy duty raincoat for walking to and from work, and this just is not it. I knew it didnt have a zipper when I ordered it and I originally didnt mind, but it was clear from just trying it on once that the buttones would make gaps that would let water in. I also found this jacket to run smaller than expected. I am a 14/16 and usually wear an XL but this XL was on the smaller side. If I were wearing anything thicker than a T shirt it would be tight. I also do not like that there is no definition at the waist so it just looks boxy with no shape. Like I said I love Northface and will buy other things from them in the future, but I promptly returned this jacket. If it were half the price I could see it being a useful addition to my closet, but for this price point I was expecting way more.

My best friend and I were both excited to order this jacket. It’s something we had both been looking for, but were disappointed when it arrived. It is definitely more on the relaxed fit side and I would recommend sizing down. I am usually a small and ordered a small and felt like I was swimming in it. I’m also 5’3” and the length was just a tad bit longer than I would have liked. For the price, I would’ve expected a zipper enclosure with the snap buttons, and slightly thicker material. Needless to say, this is going back. I wanted to love it.

Good Basic Raincoat
I didn't realize this didn't zip up when I ordered, I also didn't notice it only had patch pockets - not the kind you can easily slip your hands into. I still can't decide if these are deal breakers. I do really like how sleek and simple the design is.

Fun classic raincoat
Love it. I'm 5'7", 124 lbs., and the Small is generous enough to wear over a thick sweater with room to spare. The sleeves are nice and long. The style is boxy, but still trim. Love the mesh lining in the body area. The yellow is a classic fisherman's coat color-cheery but not too bright. Very lightweight and comfortable. Nice mix of utilitarian and cute style. At first I was a little disappointed that it didn't have a zipper (didn't read the description closely), but I'm confident in TNF quality, so I'm sure the snaps will hold up to years of snapping and unsnapping.

Love this jacket!
I have been looking for a new lightweight rain jacket to replace an old one. I ordered the X Small and it’s a little long in the sleeves. I rolled them up a bit and the jacket fits perfectly. The North Face never disappoints.
