wonderful
I received this as a birthday gift which was so thoughtful. I have had eczema on my hands since I was a little girl. Within a week of slathering this on at night my hands were completely healed up, no more flaky bumpy skin. I'm buying a second tube to keep in my purse.

not up to La Mer's usual standard
La Mer Hand Treatment is nice, but not worth $45 for a small tube. Next time, I'll order Bliss for a fraction of the price. My hands are still noticeably dry despite reapplying several times today.

Been using since 2004...
Where has the time gone? It's hard to believe 16 years have passed since I first purchased a trial size of this online, back when the packaging used to mention the formula containing the 'whitening complex' - and when it used to cost a lot less than the $90 it is today! Feels like it was only a few years ago. Despite the ever increasing cost I have re-purchased this several times over the years, whenever I'm not trying out another hand cream or treatment. I'm not a fan of overly rich or greasy hand creams, and this one falls midway between light and rich, with an 'emulsion' like texture. It sinks in fairly rapidly and leaves my hands both plumped-up and moist, but not greasy or oily. It does have that typical La Mer fragrance which is neither too strong nor overpowering. I've never noticed any brightening or lightening effects when using this, but as a hand moisturizer it does the job. Bear in mind I don't have extremely dry hands, or chapped skin and I'm not sure it would be adequate if my hands were. I would have given 5 lippies if the price had not increased so much over time, but alas it has and hence the rating. Nothing Special
For the price of this hand cream, I expected something pretty exquisite. There is nothing spectacular about it except the price. The cream doesn't last long.
I've purchased less expensive hand creams that did a better job of moisturizing the skin than La Mer. Unfortunately, I fell for the hype.
I doubt I'd purchase again.

The best handcream ever!
I've tried a ton of different products, but this one absorbs and moisturizes immediatly. I can even smell it and feel it after I've done the dishes! It is truly amazing! And as opposed to other reviews, I definitely like the hand cream better than the face one, although they're both great products.

Not great
I have been using the moisturizing cream for 2 years and love it. However, tried this hand cream and was not impressed. Was no better than any basic hand lotion. Maybe it's not thick enough. Spend your money on the face cream instead.
