Different running style
I'm not a professional runner, but I can see the difference compared to other types of shoes. The load is placed on the midfoot. Overall, I run better/differently than in the NORVAN LD 4.

Pro ?
Why is Arc'Teryx calling this the "pro" and charging customers a super trainer price ? It has no premium foam, no plate, and the fit is way off. Not a good mountain shoe by any means. However, the bird logo does make you look rich, so it's got that going.

Hello Kevin, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand your concerns about the construction and fit. Comfort and performance can vary from person to person, especially with technical footwear designed for specific terrain and activity. This shoe is built for technical mountain use, which means it’s designed with performance-focused features like a responsive midsole, durable Matryx® upper, integrated debris-blocking collar, and Vibram® Megagrip outsole. These elements are engineered to support stability, protection, and efficiency in demanding terrain. Comfort and fit can vary by individual, but the construction reflects its specialized purpose. Your input helps us better understand how our gear performs across different users and use cases, and we truly appreciate you sharing it.

Good but could be better
Overall good performance. Fit I had to go half size up to get decent toe box room and overall it's a medium width midfoot which I like. Heel hold down his been good I haven't had any issues with the heel pads. Lacing system also appears to be quite good on the midfoot it's flat out of the way, keeps your foot in place. I was reluctant to get a shoe with this much rocker and this much midsole cushioning but I've been pleasantly surprised as it has reduced impact on my knees and still retain some sensitivity underfoot although definitely men limited compared to a zero drop shoe with thin midsole. One complaint colors are terrible. And there needs to be a finger loop on the heel to aid putting the shoes on. I don't know why arc'teryx seems to have a phobia about this particular feature on their shoes. We'll see how durability works over time.

Best trail runners!!
The best trail running shoes for long distance and speed! I absolutely LOVE my Sylan Pros for trail races and the everyday long run. They are very responsive, cushioned, and have a rocker feel that helps with speed downhill. It has a really great rock plate and Vibram technology on the bottom of the shoes. I have 2 pairs of the Sylans and absolutely love them. If you’re looking for fast, lightweight, durable, and responsive trail runners these are for you! I am obsessed with them and have used them on all my big ultras.
