Alps Belted Ski Jacket with Faux-Shearling Collar

I have just returned from a ten day ski break in Canada where the temperature ranged from -10 to -2 with heavy snow and winds that blew you sideways on some days. The jacket was waterproof and warm with the correct amount of mid layers worn underneath. I like other customers found the belt to be useless. It was flimsy and ended up coming undone and slipping inside the enclosed channel. I eventually took it out all together which changed the entire look of the jacket which I did not like I wanted a cinched waste look . I find it incredibly that many people have mentioned this issue on other reviews and SB have swept this issue aside with just a ‘sorry’ when the belt is clearly not right. This was a replacement for a previous SB ski jacket that I had for several years and was super happy with but this new purchase I’m afraid will be changed for another next season.

I thought this was just the ticket for my debut ski experience but the belt popped inside the channel of the jacket the first time I wore it in my beginners class. That evening I had to spend at least half an hour trying to thread itv back through. It happened again the next day so I had to yank it really tight before putting it on (so it twisted) and leave it buckled when not wearing it.
