Sublime Replenishing Night Masque

One of the few products I’ve ever used where I truly think you can see the difference after use. I use as the final step in my evening routine whenever my skin is dry and I feel plump and glowwy the next day. Of course it’s got the typical Aesop scent to it, which I love, but if you’re not keen then it’s probably not for you. It states to wash it off the next day, but I just lightly rinse my face rather than cleansing off. Would absolutely recommend, one of my favourite products from them and I’ve tried a lot!

I had a sachet of this product along with the Aesop Lucent Facial Concentrate and took both for the weekend away. As instructed have applied the night mask on my skin on its own, after my usual face wash, before going to bed. The following morning after rinsing this off, I have applied the facial concentrate. Now, I am not certain which of the two had triggered it, but my face went tomato red and was burning - with a clear line between scalp/neck where the product was applied (i.e. neck fine face very very red). This reaction was apparent for the rest of the day (so not a temporary reaction to application). I have to stress that I do not have sensitive skin at all and have never reacted to anything else that way. The mask had a strong fragrance, although pleasant of eucalyptus and pine or such), it makes me wonder if it is the reason for the allergic reaction (too much essential oils?). In conclusion, perhaps Aesop is good for body but not so "clean" for the face. I never usually include a photo with a review, but had to illustrate what happened to my face and including it here.
