What it does: Its thin, marker-like tip is easy to use even for the least experienced and delivers anything from a defined thin line to a dramatic bold line with precision.
How to use: Shake well before use. Sweep the pen along your lashline then use the tip of the pen to create a thin, clean line. For a thick, bold line, position your pen at an angle and apply with slightly more pressure. Build to intensify color. Store horizontally for best performance.

Using for years now
Have used Lancome felt-tip, Shishedo liquid with brush, or felt tip, Tarte pencils that eventually were shipping dried out.., Mally-same problem as Tarte- quality issues, and also Mercier cake liner,- which was too lite, in black.. would not get true black after several layers. Also, Maybelline made a great wet/ brush liner, they cancelled it. This Stila liquid liner has been around for years, seems to be a top seller.
This lovely brand can get between your lashes, without leaving clumpy stuff all over and around the lashes. You can make a fine line, very near that coveted water line, but not IN it. That seems ludicrous, never found anything that stayed IN the water- /line.. but Mally keeps saying their pencil does.
You need to press down for a thicker line. Or take a high quality cuticle scissors and barely nick the felt tip, to get a slightly thicker tip./ Take VERY little off. Its best to work fast if you want a thick line to frame your eyes. Work within a small area to get a thicker line, rather than coming back after making one long, thin line. Product on top of dry product can easily end up too thick if you need really thick lines.
You definitely can paint a nice cateye on (or wings) with this. A little extended line will stay put also. I use it mostly for a great natural line within the lashline that is mostly hard to see but really makes your eyes stand out !
I love that it does not come off!- and, I love the reviewer who said it came off when she put her fingers ON it.. no kidding. It WILL stay put for an easy 12 hours unless you have itchy allergy eyes in the summer, and you scratch it! Other than that, it barely comes out in the shower, its tear proof, etc. Any good makeup remover will take it off. Worth the fair price, mine lasts quite long, it does not dry out in a month or anything close to that.
Also it does not need priming when you use it fairly often. The tip stays wet, its a mystery how that works, but it works great, its easy, AND QUICK! - great deep colors too.

Terrible
I bought this eyeliner based on some good reviews. However I would not recommend it, it goes on so shear and wipes right off. Forget staying power!! Terrible! One of the worst ones I've tried. This went straight back to Nordstroms.

Loved and Lost
Sad to report, this wonderful marker-tip of color (the smoky gray), did not stay on my eyelids even for 1 hour. The easiest tool for lining eyes I have ever had, if only the line would not have ended up with broken patches, and onto my eyelids. I am nearly 73 and have worn eyeliner since high school. I am very good at lining my eyes, but it is becoming more and more difficult as my lids are now like crepe paper and somewhat oily. No primer has solved the problem. This Stila eyeliner promised to be just the ticket, but sadly, did not work for me.

Terrible
I bought this eyeliner based on some good reviews. However I would not recommend it, it goes on so shear and wipes right off. Forget staying power!! Terrible! One of the worst ones I've tried. This went straight back to Nordstroms.

Brown does not work like Black does
I have very oily eyelids and have tried every eyeshadow base there is on the market and nothing works or lasts through an 8-9 hour work day, until I discovered Stila's Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Black. I decided to try the Brown, because I have brown eyes and prefer a softer touch, but there must be a different ingredient in the Brown because within 4 hours, my eyelids feel sticky and sure enough, it's because the eyeliner color is getting stuck on my upper eyelid from the lower eyelid. So it looks as if I drew a line with spaces on my eyelid. The Black does not do this and lasts 90% of the time, all day long, unless it's hot and humid outdoors. This is why I rate the Brown a 1; because it does not last/work or me; I can only use the Black color.

dark brown failure
The dark brown went on okay, but within an hour it had smudged off in little patches and smears onto my upper eyelid. It looked really awful! Then it was difficult to remove what was left (I was at work with minimal tools on hand). Not a good experience.

Best eyeliner of all time.
I've tried quite a few eyeliners, some gels, some pencils, and a LOT of pens. The convenience of them is hard to beat, and I've had my fair share of decent liquid eyeliners. Stila, though, has absolutely taken the cake and concocted the most phenomenal eyeliner that I have ever purchased. Yes, it's a bit hard on the wallet and costs more than your average drugstore eyeliner (including Kat Von D's tattoo liner) but Stila is so, so worth it.
Pros: Literally stays all day. It's waterproof, so if you're just splashing your face with water or sweating a bit throughout the day, you can be sure you'll maintain those sharp, sexy cat eyes. When you want to wash it off, however, your basic cleanser or a few swipes with a makeup remover pad takes the eyeliner right off. The pen tip is perfect; you get a lot of control and the color consistently comes out dark, potent, and sharp. I use it at least 3-4 times a week, and my pen lasted around 3 - 3.5 months. Even the packaging is great, and I've never had the top fall off in my travel bag or the liner packaging break from mishaps.
Cons: Using sunscreen on my eyelids with this liner tends to result in smudging in my creases. It also burns like heck if you decide to poke yourself in the eye with it while meticulously crafting those swoops, but I suppose that's probably a problem only someone as clumsy as I am might experience.
Final verdict: Just buy it. Seriously.
