Beautiful but wide

I love the simple boho look of these sandals. They seem to be made with high quality materials and the craftsmanship looks good. I normally wear an 8.5 and followed the instructions and bought a 9. The length was good but the strap that goes over the foot is too big/wide and not adjustable. Bummer. Returning.
