Soma Smart Bassinet

It's a smart bassinet that is not only functional in helping your baby sleep, but it also doubles as a beautiful addition to your nursery. Easy to install and transfer room to room, the Soma is practical, lightweight and extremely well made. It has multiple movement and sound features, but our favorite thing about it is how seamless the MotionSync feature is with the app. Our baby loves to bounce, and it allowed us to pair our unique bouncing motion straight to the bassinet with one simple selection in the app. I also love that the sides of the bassinet are mesh and breathable, allowing me to relax knowing any movement my baby had while sleeping would be safe and comfortable for him. The only critique I have is that the start of the movement could be a little bit smoother, as it tends to give a slight jolt when it starts during some of the motion features. The set up was easy, and so was getting started in the app. Once on, you can easily connect via Bluetooth and control the bassinet from your phone, which I love. My absolute favorite aspect of this item is the 'Shhh' sound feature - it's a game changer. I also love the motion sync, which detects your motion and replicates it via the bassinet with preset controls. Once we started using this bassinet, the baby would fall asleep way faster, and for longer. He's now sleeping through the night! The only change I would make is foldable sides, and the ability to move the bassinet over my bed, besides that, it's perfect! The mesh is amazingly breathable and the washable mattress is perfect for our little one; this is definitely worth the money! And if you're in the bathroom and hear the baby cry, you can just turn on motions/sound through the app, and set a timer too. Game changer!! I am a first time mom of a 12 week old baby and have been getting 8-9 hours of sleep every single night for several weeks now! The soma is super easy to use. I place my baby in the bassinet, select my motion through the buttons on the device, and pick a sound. The app is very easy to use as well and there is a very cool feature that identifies the closest motion option to how you rock your own baby. My baby takes tons of naps throughout the day and I use the app to turn up the white noise and adjust motion settings if my dogs are barking and wake her up. Besides the motion and sound, I appreciate the basket on the bottom of the bassinet for storage for my baby's supplies and the adjustable height so my back isn't breaking when I'm helping soothe her before she falls asleep. I also very much appreciate the washable mattress to get rid of spit up. Overall I would highly recommend this bassinet for its functionality while being very aesthetically pleasing. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With so many swaying options it is no wonder that this bassinet is a MUST have. As a busy parent this has become my best friend! No more having to worry about transferring my baby and him waking up. I think he even prefers to just fall asleep in the bassinet rather than in my arms. The breathable mesh was a big win for me, I had my baby in the NICU as his lungs were not yet fully developed and not having to worry about anything blocking any oxygen away from him gave me a BIG peace of mind as well as the breathable mattress. Not having to worry about my baby overheating or something getting in his way of breathing allowed me to stop waking up every 5 minutes to check on him! For that I have to say thank you to Stellar Product Testing Panel for choosing me to received this amazing product! you saved me from sleepless nights! Another big plus is that it has a big storage space where I have organized diapers, bibs, lotions, and other essentials. If I could change one thing it would be a longer cord. I like to move my bassinet around and it's already a bit complicated as it doesn't have wheels, but on top of that I do have to find nearby outlets with free space around. But overall I can deal with that if it means my baby will get some good sleep. The music options are very much what you get with any other baby sleeping equipment, lullabies and birds chirping, shushing and rain. But I just have to keep talking about the swaying settings. You can choose from low settings to high settings (5 different levels) and 5 different swaying motions (sway, rock, wave, cruise and bounce). My baby instantly fell in love with the wave but they are all great settings! Not to mention that you can lock your settings!! This way if baby's older siblings want to come mess with the bassinet they will not be able to change your settings. There's also a smart app that allows you to MotionSync! This means you can have the app match your movements for a better personalized experience! If that isn't impressive, I don't know what is! As far as assembling, it was very easy! No need to worry about this when you start nesting! This product is verified by the Baby Safety Alliance and as someone who owns a lot of UPPAbaby I highly recommend to check out this and other of their products! You will not regret it. I am a first-time mom with 2-month-old son who has really struggled with daytime naps. This bassinet has been the only way to get him to nap independently so far, with soothing motions that relax and rock him to sleep. This also freed up my ability to get things done during the day, so our house is finally clean again! The control panel and app were intuitive and easy to figure out. MotionSync was quite nifty - my husband and I loved playing around with the app to try to find the most effective rocking technique. The materials and design are super sleek, so the Soma looks great in our nursery. My baby loves the cozy mattress, and the breathable mesh sides give me peace of mind. I love the storage basket, where we keep baby pjs, burp cloths, and other daily necessities. I also found product setup super easy (my husband was surprised by how quickly I got it up and running after opening the box!). A couple things to be mindful of: 1) I wish the lowest default volume level were lower and that there were more sound options available. I ended up using a separate sound machine for greater sound variety and ability to better adjust volume level, but if you're just looking for white noise, this may be a non-issue. 2) I wish the control lights turned off because in a dark room, this bassinet always emits a bit of blue light… this was a bit distracting if the bassinet was facing me at night. Overall, I would recommend the Soma for parents seeking a savvy solution to help your newborn fall asleep quicker and stay asleep longer. With the price tag, this bassinet is an investment. But in those early days, more sleep makes a huge difference for baby and parents alike, and this bassinet will keep you sane and rested.

My baby settled in so quickly, especially with the ambient sounds and it honestly made nap time and nighttime so much smoother. The smart app was super easy to use too, which made adjusting settings kind of effortless, even when I was half-asleep. The bassinet itself is stylish and fits in anywhere without looking bulky or out of place. I also love that the mattress is washable, it makes cleaning up way easier and way less stressful.
