- After use, rinse with warm water and a little mild dish soap, then dry immediately—brass likes being clean, but it hates being left wet. Over time it will naturally develop a darker patina; if you prefer it bright, polish occasionally with a brass-safe cleaner (or a lemon-and-baking-soda paste), then rinse thoroughly and dry before storing. Avoid bleach, harsh abrasives, and long soaks, and don’t run it through the dishwasher.
