Dot Mesh Empire Waist Gown

I love the concept of this dress, but the value for price paid, especially if you didn't purchase on sale, is not quite right. What I liked: Long length, lovely classic flair shape, fitted stretchy bodice, overall look quite nice What fell short: inner lining is not fully opaque and is several inches shorter than the hem of the outer sheath ( which is totally transparent apart from the dots). The cloth and stitching were unraveling right from the box. The dots themselves are only glued on and easily flake off. The straps are a nice width in front but become "adjustable" bra-like straps in back. The straps minimum length is already quite long and seems a bit strange to do this as someone with a longer than average torso. This is a problem as you can now see bra strap in the back which means you need to somehow cover this (I found a crepe bolero in black) or go braless if you are small or brave. The boning is pointless (only two bones near the armpits) and the poor stitching didn't properly house these so they are able to pop out and dig in painfully. All together disappointing for a regularly priced $150 dress. I purchased on sale for around $90 after waiting for a drop on the wish list but would have returned from just the quality issues if not needing it for a last minute cocktail event.
