Phenomenal and underrated non-iron dress shirt.
This is a phenomenal non-iron dress shirt. Non-iron dress shirts are key to any business wardrobe. I have tried and own practically every brand in existence. And I can honestly say that this is from the top of the top. A lot of brands claim to be non-iron, but they're more like wrinkle free. These shirts however are from the select few brands that are truly non-iron. This is because they come out of the dryer with crisp lines along the sleeves etc, and it holds its shape very well. The collar doesn't get all messed up in the wash, because it's firm and stiff. Truly an exceptional shirt. Easily on par with the much more expensive Brooks Brother's retail store shirts. But I prefer these over the Brooks Brothers because of the fit. I find the Brooks Brothers to either be way too slim, or huge and with baggy sleeves. But that's just for my personal sizing. However, do NOT get confused with these shirts and the less expensive Nordstrom men's shop non-iron dress shirts. These are the SmartCare non-iron dress shirts. I purchased the other ones and was very disappointed with the quality. The SmartCare line makes a world of a difference. Honestly, I don't know why Nordstrom even sells the other one. People get confused between the two and they end up thinking that Nordstrom doesn't make good shirts. Pity.

quality of this shirt has deteriorated
I have been ordering this shirt for my husband for more than 15 years. I received 2 last week and the quality has definitely deteriorated. The cut is much tighter and also the fabric is considerably thinner now compared to the same shirts that he already owns.

Hardly "Traditional" Fit
Don't expect to find in this shirt the wide cut you expect in a traditional fit. They are much thinner than other brand's traditional fit. This ruined the Nordstrom experience for me. Returning these shirts and going back to the Jos. A. Bank Traveler. Very disappointed.

Incredibly Small
Just curious why the same size I bought for my husband six months ago - shirts he's wearing now - is suddenly a couple inches too small?
Seriously disappointed, but this is how Nordstrom is going, everything is smaller and smaller, and the price is the only thing that grows?
It's being returned tomorrow, it's so wasteful to have to order something, have it shipped, find it's several sizes smaller now, and take it to the store to be returned.
I won't bother anymore.

Used to be better
I've been buying the SmartCare label shirt for years. This shirt came out of the dryer needing pressing, after its first laundering. It went immediately from the washing machine to the dryer, and it was withdrawn from the dryer during the tumbling cycle and placed on a hanger. The sleeve creases are fine, but the front and back of the shirt do not look crisp. The SmartCare shirt used to come out of the dryer looking very smooth. Something has changed in the fabric treatment. Disappointing.

Loved the old Smartcare shirt
Thank you to the many people who left reviews before me. The reason I have been paying a premium for Smartcare shirts for many years and buying nothing else because they had the sweet spot of well fitting sleeves, sufficiently long shirts, wrinkle free fabric, and a price lower than a custom shirt. Thanks to you all, I'm saving myself the trouble of buying a shirt. I noticed the sleeve lengths changed and those sizes have always been too short or too long. I'm unfortunately right in between the two sizes. I read the reviews to see many people are unhappy for that reason. Nordstrom, please let me know if you bring back the old Smartcare shirt. Thank you!

Not what they used to be
Nordstrom's pinpoints just aren't what they used to be. I'd guess the thread count has been reduced because the fabric is coarser than it was a couple of years ago. The front placket is a bit narrower, and the embroidered Nordstrom logo on the front tail is gone. Not terrible, but what used to be a really good shirt is now just average. I bought three at roughly the same time, but they're my last three.
