SLNY Tiered Chiffon Cocktail Dress with Jacket

This tiered style is exceedingly flattering for curvy shapes. I ordered it in two colors - the faded rose/blush and the navy color. I decided to keep both of them as they are very reasonably priced, and getting back into dressing up a bit, will come in handy for numerous occasions. The jacket covers my arms, which is what I was looking for so as to not have to worry about a shawl or shrug purchase. Level width of jacket is generous and not too tight! Nice detailing/beading/sequins on the shoulder of the jacket and neckline of the sleeveless dress. Dress is not too long and not too short, perfect for someone who is 5'4".

I was disappointed with this purchase on several points: poor fit, comfort, and care limitations. When I first received the dress and saw the wrinkles, I thought a good steam in the bathroom would do the trick, but no, so I read the care tag and to my chagrin, I couldn’t iron, steam, hand wash, or dry clean this dress. It can only be spot cleaned. What?!!! I immediately regretted the purchase, but had no other options at the time as I was many miles away from home at a destination wedding. I put the dress on and the fit was terrible in the chest area. I’m not a seamstress but the darts on either side of my chest puckered weirdly. Not sure how to describe it better. Then when I bent over to buckle my shoes I couldn’t reach because the jacket restricts reach further than, say, that which is required to cut your steak at table as long as elbows are kept near the body. So ultimately, the tissue paper thin fabric provides zero warmth so only wear in dead summer. Don’t reach for anything; don’t operate any heavy machinery, including a car. Don’t you dare sweat, spill anything, or breath because this dress can’t be cleaned in any practical manner and wrinkles will be permanent unless you can psychokinetically will them away. The sleeves of the jacket cannot be pushed up either because the fabric has zero give, so be very careful when eating. Basically, unless you’re a mannequin or a millionaire who enjoys throwing money away on single use clothes don’t bother with this dress.
