The Velvet Nourishing Cream

I see this got lots of great reviews and I agree that this cream feels nice on the skin and gives a nice glow when first applied. It smells nice, but as shown on the ingredients label it does contain fragrance, which can hide all types of damaging chemicals. Usually I don’t care about fragrances, especially since it’s so low on the list, but if you’re one who likes clean products this may not be fore you. I was just not all that impressed with the overall ingredients list or at least where they stand. For something priced this high, I expected better. I was really interested in it because it contains saffron flowers, which is an extremely beneficial ingredient for the skin, loaded with antioxidants and so on. However the saffron is not high enough on the ingredients list for me to purchase it JUST for the saffron. It also contains Cetearyl Alcohol and Cetyl Alcohol. Cetearyl Alcohol being one of the top ingredients. I understand when and sometimes why alcohol is needed in products but I don’t like seeing any alcohols this high on ingredients list since over time it can break collagen down and actually damage the skin. It does contains some good ingredients, like the saffron I mentioned before. However the rest are not all that special, they do give them fancy names on the label, but they are just generic ingredients like Shea butter, soybean, jojoba, buckwheat, sunflower, cotton, etc. (all of which are not unique) For the price tag you can find these same ingredients at higher much quantities for much, much, less. And this is coming from someone who’s willing to spend $1000, even $2,000 on a good serum. So I know what is worth the splurge and what is not. It also claims it can be used both day and night, however, I don’t feel this absorbs enough to apply makeup over, unless you have very dry skin. So if you’re going to use it, I’d recommend it at night.

I got this product as a sample and I intend to purchase the full size. It feels so nourishing and luxurious on the skin! My skin felt hydrated throughout the day and there was no need to reapply the moisturizer more than once a day. As a side bonus, this cream also smells great! I highly recommend it to anyone with dry skin!

I don’t know what makes this so great but this is an amazing moisturizer. I wore sample on a business trip (my skin always gets extra dry during travel) and I kept having to check out my skin in the mirror. I came home and bought this for myself as a Christmas present. It’s super moisturizing but not greasy. It sinks in so quickly and is a wonderful base for makeup. I would highly recommend. I have started trying more Sisley products.

This is an exquisite moisturizer. The cream feels dense and rich like butter, but instantly melts into skin. I am 40 years old and have a cabinet full to the brim of different concoctions to make my skin as healthy as possible, yet nothing else I've owned does as much to immediately perfect and protect my skin. As soon as this cream sets, my skin looks radiant and lit-from-within. I usually follow with a tinted moisturizer for running errands, but I don't even feel the need. It has a softening, silkening effect that you can see. It is also occlusive enough to protect my skin from the harsh winter climate and dry air, so I notice a cumulative, calming effect when I wear this daily. I can barely afford this and cut out different luxury beauty items to make room for this in my budget, because I've tried every buzzy "cult status" luxury moisturizer they've been trying to sell me, and this is the only one that really delivered and felt worth it.
