For this piece, we sourced “peace silk” which sets forth high standards of animal welfare for silk production. Silk moths are allowed to emerge from their cocoons naturally and alive, after which the cocoons left behind are harvested for the fibers. Our supplier has created abundant employment opportunities in rural parts of India.
