Silk Blend Blouse

This is a lot of money for me to spend on a top, but the navy blue was just calling my name. I finally splashed out and got it, certain it would be my new favorite item, but I'm finding the fit to be very odd. I'm only 5' 4" and a size 18/20 (ok, 20 since covid). I got the 2x thinking it should be plenty large since I have a size XL in 2 Vince sweaters that fit me fine. But it's just odd. The sleeves are so short! They pull if I extend my arms, and I have little T-Tex arms. Parts of the top feel super oversized, like the chest area, even though I'm a 42DD. I feel like a kid wearing Dad's shirt, but then it's kind of tight in the middle? The first button is so low that I'd need to put another button in, or something, and I'm usually fine with a deep V. The length is very, very long. I'm considering going up to a 3X for the arm length and for a little more room in the middle, and then having it altered. Maybe I will, because the fabric, although not 100% silk, is just exquisite. Light and flowy and soft - I basically never want to take this off, even though the fit issues are constantly distracting.

I LOVED this shirt and the color (and the feel - fabulous!!), and I LOVE Vince items, but the one problem I have with the Vince brand (and it’s a biggie) is that it seems like their sizing and fit aren’t standardized. Nothing fits the same as any other item I have, so I can’t go by what I already have when I make a new purchase, because it may or may not fit the same. I’m returning this shirt, because it runs large and draped baggy under the arms. Thanks for the hassle-free return, Nordstrom!! :)
