What it does: This cleansing formula contains abyssinian oil and the brand's signature calming aroma, featuring 25 pure flower and plant essences, including certified organic lavender, petitgrain and ylang-ylang.
How to use: Massage into wet hair. Rinse. Follow with conditioner.

BEWARE OF NEW SHAMPURE SHAMPOO FORMULA!
I've been using Aveda Shampure Shampoo for decades but this new formula is absolutely horrible and I am returning it! It leaves a greasy sticky residue.
Who at Aveda headquarters made the terrible decision to fix something that wasn't broken, that was, in fact, perfect?!?

I have been using Aveda Shampure Shampoo for 23 years. This newly designed bottle has a new formula and it is THE WORST! It smells different, it lathers different and it leaves hair feeling grimy and gross. I will be returning and never using again.

I love the old Shampure shampoo and have used it for years. They have reformulated it and the smell is not as good nor as strong. It also doesn't suds up as much as the old version. I'll be returning this.

Unpleasant fragrance; leaves my hair greasy
I used Shampure for 7 years and loved it for a long time. In the past year or so Aveda changed the formula. The fragrance used to smell fresh and herbal. The fragrance now smells 'medicinal'? The shampoo used to foam up and be sudsy when I rubbed the soap between the palms of my hands. Now it makes very little suds. I feel like I have to use more product just to get the soap to bubble up. The worst part about this new formula is that it leaves my hair feeling greasy. When I shower the soap doesn't remove the oil and buildup from my hair. In fact, the buildup in my roots has increased since switching to this new formula. I ended up having to stop using the product and switching to a clarifying shampoo just to get my scalp and roots clean. I'm dissatisfied with this product.

Aveda is known to have products with less harmful Ingredients so I thought I’d give it a try. It left my hair feeling very clean with less buildup than other shampoos I’ve been using. Almost like a clarifying shampoo, but certainly not drying. My only complaint is that I am not in love with the smell. It’s a little strong and close to a drugstore clarifying shampoo I’ve used in the past- not sure if I can say the name on here.
