Good cut great materials
Perfect lightweight rain jacket. Don’t listen to the oldheads in the other negative reviews, it’s a very nice modern cut that’s boxier in the chest and has a very slight crop.

Fills the Void
This jacket slaps. It perfectly fills the void of a lightweight spring/summer shell that I was missing. Excellent construction. Easily pack able. This may be one of my favorite jackets due to its versatility. I feel like a little pushback is needed in some of these other reviews. The fabric is exactly what you would come to expect from a Veilance piece and the fit is exactly as described. Both of these things are obvious by just trying the piece on. Anyways, one of my favorite jackets yet. Wonderful design. Kudos!

boxy fit. stay away
Horrible boxy fit. My favorite jacket of the past 10 years is an Arcteryx Veliance Composite jacket (odessa green, bring that color back please!). It was great. This Secant jacket is so boxy and fits so horribly in comparison. I feel like I need to both size up because this is shorter, and size down because the torso area is so boxy.
pass on this one. sizing is all over the place

Hi there. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts on the Secant SL Jacket. We're sorry to hear the fit didn’t work for you—it's designed with a more relaxed, urban silhouette, but we understand that doesn't suit everyone’s preferences. We really appreciate the detailed feedback and will pass your comments along to the design team.

Great for Spring/Summer
I really like this piece. It's exactly as advertised for me: a lightweight piece for my commute (via walking, Metro, or car) that is a more breathable and quiet material than the Arris, and the fit is such that it is perfect for being a utility piece for wearing over pretty much anything in the Spring/Summer season (it feels very breathable). It's a bit shorter in the torso than some of my other pieces, but I really like that fit for the Spring/Summer season. The waterproofing works well for a piece that doesn't feel like the Gore-Tex shells of old. It's a go-to since I bought it and we've had a warmer and somewhat rainier month or two to kick off Spring where I live. I've used it as a windbreaker on some days without precipitation and it works well.

Great idea, poor execution
My wife bought this for me for my 76th birthday. I was excited about it. It looked well suited for travel and work, was wind and rain proof. It was said to have a "quiet" fabric and a hood fit for heads instead of helmets. The fabric looked nice, and the stitching looked great. But the fabric is very noisy [as soon as I walked into the room, my wife said "Oh, that won't do, it's too noisy], the hood is cut to fit a helmet not a head, and the fit on me was peculiar -- it was tight in the shoulders and huge & boxy in the torso. I returned it immediately. My advice to customers is do not purchase it. My advice to Arc’teryx is please please redesign it. If it worked as I hoped and was advertised, I would have loved it.
