Xodus Ultra 4 Trail Running Shoe (Men)

Amazing shoes with great grip and comfort. Ran a 50k in them in the rain and sloppy mud, although I did slip a tiny bit in some heavy mud I was one of very few that never fell during the race. Breathability and comfort were great along with great support. Never felt like I needed anything more from these shoes

I purchased the shoe and put roughly 200 miles on it, including a 50-mile race. For sizing, I went up about one full size, I normally wear a 13 and went with a 14 which felt like a true sizing. The Vibram outsole is extremely sticky and features an excellent traction pattern. you can hear the rubber sticking to the concrete with every stride if you use this on the road. After 200 miles, there are no meaningful signs of foam degradation. The shoe runs fairly stiff but feels very supportive. I did notice some heel slip, even when using an ankle-lock lacing pattern. One thing worth highlighting is the condition of my feet after the race, I finished with virtually zero blisters, which says a lot about the lockdown and overall comfort over long distances. I did tear the front of the toe box while bushwhacking on a run, so durability there may be a consideration depending on terrain. I wouldn’t classify this as a particularly “fast” shoe, but it is exceptionally stable and reliable. While there are likely better pure racing options, this shoe is a very strong contender for high-volume, trail-specific training miles.

Bought this start of the winter. A good shoe for snow covered trails and good grip on packed snow. Does just what I expected it to. I see some comments on size issues. I have found none, fits perfectly, but I always go half a size up from my actual foot size. I use Peregrines for days with deeper fresh snow and/or slush and mud.
