Not worth it if they are not leather
I have a hard time walking in these shoes, too. I love mules, and I love loafers, but this combo is bulky and no chance of breaking in since they are synthetic. Take note of those three teeny red, green, and white stitches on the outside. Might be a deal breaker for some.

Menswear Classic
Just received these great menswear inspired mules. I concur with a recent reviewer that these are a heavier shoe - as are my favorite Sam Edelmen slides - but my experience is a bit different than hers. I am not having any challenge walking as the vamp is full/high on the foot and the footbed is nice and padded with a flexible sole. I read before ordering that these have a man-made upper but I find them very flexible. Almost pre-broken-in. They appear like patent leather (and I really like patent leather). I also love the square toe. Only comment is I have medium to narrow feet and find them wide so I'll be wearing toe cap socks to ensure a tighter fit in the cooler weather when my feet shrink. If you're intrigued, give them a try. I am thrilled with the two-tone in my regular size.
