Santiago Knit Long Sleeve Sweater Dress

If you can invest in one black dress to take you from office to cocktail part, this should be it. This is designed in classic St. John style with a very structured construction, a substantial and only slightly giving fabric, flawlessly assembled. Two tasteful gold buttons provide a bit of sparkle in a subtle and tasteful way. Be aware that this dress does not run big. I got the small and it just fits me with no room to spare. I am usually an x-small or small, 4 or 6. In another St. John piece, I ordered the medium and it is very comfortable. There is nothing else to add. This dress is perfect, in my estimation. And at this sale price, a once in a lifetime bargain.

I got this dress for a song, so I wanted to love it. Upon opening the package I immediately noticed the label was hanging on by one side, making me believe it may have been returned (never my favorite thing with a new item). Anyway, it was otherwise in new condition. I LOVE the sleeve/wrist detail. the buttoning and slit are so elegant and refined. Beyond that, the dress fell flat for me. It was a little too big, so perhaps that was the main issue. It was just a little too gapey on the neckline and back. The length was as picture. Unfortuantely this will be a return.
