Double Breasted Twill Coat

Had recently outgrown my previous winter coats and picked this one up a few sizes bigger than I usually wear things. Was having lots of doubts as I left Nordys. A sales assistant at a different shop complimented me (I deflected) and she said ‘you honestly look like a supermodel rn’ So, buy this coat. Feels like you’re in a Nora Ephron film.

This coat is right in line with the long coat trend of the season! It’s a classic cut, so if you’re nervous about the long coat trend swallowing you up in size, don’t worry. Many of the long oversized coats now have the exaggerated shoulders with pads, but this one has very minimal ones so it won’t look ridiculously cartoonish on us shorter ladies lol. I typically wear a medium/large in winter coats (I wear a medium in a Mackage puffer with room left over for reference), so this was surprising to have to order a size 14! I tried on the 12 in store with a thin turtleneck underneath and felt I could go up another size if I ever wanted to wear a hoodie or thicker sweater underneath. I am glad I went with the 14 to make it slightly oversized in the torso area. I’m 5’6” and the coat hits just below my ankles. It’s such a dramatic length and I love that! I have been asked nonstop where I got this coat lol. If you are a dark brunette this icy gray will look absolutely stunning on you too. It’s a gorgeous color. I don’t have any winter coats in this color so wasn’t sure what to expect, but after trying on the other colors knew that this was the one. It can be dressed up or down which is always an added bonus. It’s medium weight so I’d recommend wearing a sweater underneath if you’re planning on being out in colder temps. Hopefully this brand will continue this style and length in some other non neutral colors because I’d definitely add another to my collection!
