Toy Loulou Quilted Leather Crossbody Bag

I purchased this bag after researching the original "Toy Loulou". This bag isn't the same, on the YSL website this bag is referred to as the "Mini Loulou" . The original "Toy Lou Lou" that has a cult following has different features including an adjustable strap and additional interior center pocket. These were small differences in features but in the end why I returned it, it wasn't the bag I thought I was purchasing. Product images made it hard to see the specific features I was looking for, just FYI if you are looking for the original "Toy Loulou" design everyone raves about... this one is not the same. :(

This little bag is perfect for my everyday essentials. I own the Gucci Marmont Super mini as well and I can only fit my card case, keys, and a little hand sanitizer. The toy Lou Lou I can fit my phone (iPhone XS Max), card case, keys, hand sanitizer, mini hand cream, some Splenda packets, and have some room to spare. My only complaint about the bag is this doesn’t come with an adjustable strap like the older model did and the strap is too short for me to wear crossbody as I’m 5’7” and on the curvy side. The benefit though is the strap is removable so I can always add a longer strap. I would definitely recommend this bag!

THE TOY LOU LOU BAG SIZE AND DESIGN IS MY NEW GO-TO. The strap isn’t too short, I’m 5’6” and it hits perfectly for shoulder and crossbody. It isn’t adjustable, but the strap isn’t cheap when compared to other designer bags at this price. I HIGHLY recommend Laston wipes and leather protect for it. You buy the bag, protect and condition the leather and it’ll last a lifetime. I have the Gucci Disco in black and nude. I have to say, I loved my Gucci Disco until I found this bag. The leather material doesn’t fade, wear or tear like the Disco — see the reviews on it. If you are torn between the two, purchase the YSL. They hold the same amount on the interior and this bag is better quality.

Thank God I bought it before the price increase by $100, still worth to buy now. I love the hardware is not shinning, very cute, comfy good mini size bag. I bought a top handle attached to it to make PERFECT. The strap is detachable, great for cross body too. I bought the black one, if the price goes down during the holiday, I will buy at least another color.

Another reviewer mentioned that this isn’t the Toy Loulou but rather the Mini because the Toy has an adjustable strap and an inside slip pocket divider. While that was the case, YSL phased out that model and replaced it with this one. The Mini Lou is an entirely different camera bag style. You can probably find the older Toy model preloved, but going forward this is the Toy Loulou. While it is a bit annoying that this model doesn’t have the adjustable strap and additional slip pocket, they are very similar and it remains a beautiful small bag option in my opinion.
