Jog On Sneaker (Women)

This was my first pair of Ryka's and I am less than impressed. I bought them to wear on vacation and wanted something that was easy to slip on and off. Yes, I walked a fair amount, but not nearly enough to have the kind of wear that these shoes showed. The sole wore almost clear through! I had bought my teenage son a pair of $15 Reef shoes and they did not show wear anything like mine. While the shoes were comfortable (which is why I gave them 2 stars instead of 1), I certainly expect them not to show this kind of wear after 2 weeks.

Shoe is hard to get on b/c it is a non-lace up type with elastic laces and heel is very stiff. Heel comes up high in the back and could rub. The elastic laces on the side of the tongue bunch up when you slide in and are uncomfortable. Ordered a 9.5W and it was wide enough in the toe (I am a C width). Footbed support didn't hit me in the right places. Loved the color scheme (lilac/navy).

I realized my Brooks shoes are too tight in the toe area, particularly on my right foot that has a bunion- my middle toe has been feeling squished and my pinky toe is pushed out over the sole. When I walk a long time, they really get sore. So, during the anniversary sale 2024, I was looking to try to some alternatives. I tried the ASICS gels that everyone loves and they were soft and had a wider toe box, but there was something pushing on the outside of my heel on the two sizes i tried. It went a way a bit when I put on my orthotics. I did find the extra cushioning in those shoes disconcerting. These Ryka’s seem great. I feel like my toes have tons of room,but the shoe is more structured on top- none of that mesh style- and it will keep my pinky toe in. Also, I just love the look of the lilac/blue ones in the sale.
