great backpack!

Just got to use this during vacation. Was able to fit everything I needed as a carryon bag and it was comfortable walking around with the backpack on most of the day through vacation.

Straps way too long

I'm heading to Europe in a few days and purchased this bag online for my trip. It checked all the boxes--quality, color, features. And on sale! There's only one issue--the straps are far too long. I'm a 5' 6" woman, approximately 130 lbs., and my torso is too short to accommodate the long straps. The bag sits at my lumbosacral junction and wings off my back, even with the straps tightened completely. Even with the bag empty it was uncomfortable where it touched my back and made contact with my shoulders. My husband, who is nearly 6' 3", tried it on with the straps completely tightened and it laid flat against his back, approximately 6" above where it touches my back, exactly where it should rest. I'm SO disappointed. Anyone with a shorter torso or who is petite likely won't be able to wear this bag without experiencing discomfort at the lumbar aspect of the spine. I love Tumi products, own another bag I've had for 17 years that is still in practically perfect condition. So I gave this three stars for the quality, color and features, but am disappointed by the exceedingly long straps that prevent me from keeping the bag.

stains easily

I bought this, took it on a work trip, and now there are three huge stains that I can’t get out. They look like oil stains, but nothing was spilled. I’m pretty frustrated and will likely return. (For what it is worth, I felt like the strap length was fine and I’m 5’3”).

Tumi Outlet Quality

I’ve had a Tumi Voyager backpack forever and it’s finally showing wear. It has served me so well, but I did like the open pockets on the side of this one instead of the zipper pockets on the one I already own. I like to carry a water bottle on the outside of the bag. Unfortunately, this bag quality is not the same as the other one. The zippers are clunky and very sticky. They do not run smoothly at all, which is a pet peeve of mine. It would be a really nice backpack for $100 but it feels overpriced even at the sale price here in my opinion. I’m on the fence about returning it. I saw a brand new one on Poshmark in a similar color for $100 less. The sale is just not that great of value in my opinion.

I like the look of this and was really excited to see a Tumi with water bottle pockets! But alas, it was too small for my daily commuting needs, let alone travel - my Longchamp medium fits WAY more. Still on the hunt for the perfect backpack.
