The Compact Stroller I Keep Reaching For

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this stroller through Stellar Panel in exchange for my honest review, but all opinions are my own. We’ve used quite a few strollers over the past couple of years, and this one genuinely impressed me. I expected it to be a great travel stroller, but what surprised me most is that I’ve found myself reaching for it just as often for everyday errands. It’s lightweight, easy to maneuver, and incredibly simple to get in and out of the car. My daughter is very tall for her age, and she looks very comfortable on it. She had plenty of room, and I love that the footrest adjusts upward to better support longer legs. The seat fabric is soft, the ride is smooth, and the suspension handled much better than I expected from a compact stroller. We recently took it through the cobblestone streets of Boston, and it rolled surprisingly well without feeling bumpy or unstable. The harness is another feature I really appreciated. Buckling my daughter in is quick and straightforward, and adjusting the shoulder straps as she grows doesn’t require a struggle. Those little details make a big difference when you’re using a stroller every day. For travel, it checked all the boxes. The included travel backpack is well made with padded shoulder straps, making it comfortable to carry through the airport. We checked the stroller on our flight, and it came back without any damage. Having the cup holder included is another nice touch since it’s often an extra purchase with many strollers. If I could change one thing, it would be the storage basket. It’s smaller than I’d ideally like, but that’s fairly typical for compact travel strollers. Even so, it still fits my very overpacked Longchamp bag that I sometimes use as a diaper bag, or a standard diaper bag without a problem. My absolute favorite feature is the magnetic peek-a-boo window on the canopy. It’s such a simple idea, but being able to quietly check on my child without noisy Velcro is something I wish every stroller had. It’s one of those thoughtful design details that makes a real difference. Overall, this stroller exceeded my expectations. It’s compact without feeling flimsy, comfortable for my child, easy to use, and versatile enough that I don’t think of it as just a travel stroller. Whether you’re navigating airports, walking through a city, or just running everyday errands, I think it’s an excellent option.

Great Handling and Look But A Few Drawbacks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was provided the Romer Lani Ultra-Compact Stroller in exchange for my review as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I have been looking for a highly collapsible stroller for outings and for future air travel, as I find our full-sized stroller too bulky and difficult to deal with regularly. My overall review of the Romer Lani is a mixed bag: there are some aspects of the stroller that I absolutely love, and a couple that didn't work for my needs. Appearance and Build: This stroller looks well-appointed and upscale - the oatmeal shade looks great in person. The fabric is soft and appears water-resistant. There are nice details like a leather braided zipper pull that elevate the stroller's look. The overall structure of the stroller looks and feels balanced, and the basket under the seat is surprisingly large. However, I wish the fixtures and buttons felt higher end - the black plastic doesn't feel luxurious, and the buttons and latch for collapsing and opening the stroller are a big drawback (more on that later). Features: The rotating roll bar is an absolute game changer! I love that it rotates out of the way easily when I put my son in our out of the stroller. It also can stay on when you collapse down the stroller, which is so convenient. I also loved how far down the sun shade goes, it was so helpful for keeping my very fair-skinned son protected. The leg rest can be straightened to be parallel to the ground for comfort, which was a big plus and necessary for us. Additionally, the seat reclines smoothly using a strap mechanism, and could be used in conjunction with the leg rest extension for rests on the go with ease (though I wish the most upright setting was a bit more upright!). Unfortunately, I don't feel like my son has much room to grow in this stroller as a tall, leggy 17 month old - the seat doesn't have much depth between his bottom and his knees, so at times it felt like he was dangling a bit from the harness rather than seated comfortably. I was surprised to feel like my not-even-a-toddler had already outgrown the seat. Extending the leg rest became a requirement for us rather than a feature because of this. I think the size of this stroller seat would be perfect for a child under 18 months, but seat comfort may be an issue for larger or older children on longer trips. Handling: The Romer Lani handles very nicely, especially for an ultra-compact stroller. It feels light but sturdy, and is responsive to steering without feeling rickety. I was very impressed by the stroller's ride given how compact it is. Opening and Collapsing the Stroller: On a positive note, the Romer Lani really collapses down quite small, I was impressed! It is light and would absolutely fit for airplane travel. However, the opening and closing experience was where the stroller left much to be desired. Despite following the directions, I needed to use two hands every time I opened this stroller. The handlebar buttons stick easily and feel rickety - the opening mechanism does not feel smooth or well built. I have average sized hands for a woman, and I struggled to push both buttons at the same time with one hand as hard as was needed to open the stroller. Additionally, the closure latch on the side has to be opened first, and often got stuck closed again by the time I was able to wrangle the stroller open. One handed opening and closing is one of the most important - if not the most important - feature I want in a travel stroller, so the struggle to get this stroller open every time would not be something I would want to replicate in an airport terminal. Unfortunately, this really knocked down my overall review since it was such a persistent issue and the dual button mechanism itself felt so poorly put together. Overall, the Romer Lani is a very pretty stroller that is good, but with a big asterisk when it comes to the not-really-one-handed opening and collapsing. This stroller could be great with a smooth, truly one-handed opening mechanism, a deeper seat, and higher quality harness fixtures. Ultimately, I would recommend it, but only to those who don't need it to be one-handed to open or close.

Romer Lani Ultra Compact Stroller Review

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this stroller to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Here is my honest review. Pros: The material is higher quality and thicker than I expected. The stroller doesn’t feel cheap for what you pay for. The stroller has an easy one handed fold. My favorite part that is included with stroller is the cover. The cover has straps that you can carry on your back like a backpack. The stroller is airline approved. We recently used it on an airline and it was very easy to maneuver. I do appreciate the adjustable back for our baby girl. She like to lounge and it’s a nice break from her having to sit up all the time. Cons: I wish the cup holder was larger. It doesn’t fit most larger water bottles besides the 16oz plastic bottles you can get at the grocery store. The undercarriage could be larger for bags. My standard backpack hardly fits and sticks out of the basket. The seat insert is not as cushioned as I hoped it would be compared to other strollers I’ve used. One suggestion I would make is to update the handlebar where it can be adjustable for taller parents. Overall, I do recommend this stroller if you travel often. It is convenient and easy to store in your car or in an overhead bin on an airplane.

A Commuter Parent Dream

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Living in NYC my almost 2 yr old is no stranger to the MTA . Bus and trains in NYC are not child friendly so having a stroller that is compact and lightweight is crucial. The most common strollers you will see are the up and bug strollers, but after using this stroller gifted from stellar product testing panel, Romer should be considered. My son is in 90% percentile for height and the seat back of the lani is tall and still has room for him to grow. It is lighter than our uppa minu, however it is just as durable and smooth of a ride. The ont hand fold is smooth, especially when holding the hand of a wiggly toddler. The seat is more upright than most compact strollers. My son sat comfortably in the seat without slouching or trying to pull himself forward. It comes with a belly bar and a travel bag, items that most companies charge extra for. The only reason why I took of a star is the basket is smaller that our current uppa minu stroller. I carry a large bag as a nurse and had a hard time fitting my work bag under the stroller. Besides this, the Romer Lani is definitely an amazing option for commuting parents. Thank you so much stellar product testing panel. This has become my new travel stroller for when we’re taking the bus and trains

Exactly What We Needed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Big shoutout to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for sending us this stroller to try! My toddler just turned 21 months old, and this has quickly become our go-to stroller when we’re on the go. It folds up compactly, and we keep it stored in the back of the car so it’s always ready when we’re out and about. School drop-offs and pick-ups for our older son are a breeze now when our youngest needs to tag along -we just pop it out of the trunk, open it with one hand while holding our toddler in the other, and get him settled in to make the walk from the car to the school so much easier. The travel bag/backpack it comes with is also a great bonus. We haven’t flown since getting this stroller, but I can already tell it will be incredibly useful for gate-checking on our next trip. Overall, the look and feel of this stroller are top-notch. The fabric is very soft, the ride is incredibly smooth, and the leather accents give it a really elevated appearance. I also love the attachable cup holder. It’s such a practical, parent-focused feature that’s often missing from compact strollers like this. I also appreciated the range of adjustability in the seat back, leg rest, and expandable shade. The shade can extend quite far down, which will be perfect for naps on the go. I did have a bit of trouble adjusting the leg rest. When my toddler had his legs resting on it, it required two hands and a little finagling to get it adjusted. I’m sure that will get easier with more use, but it’s something I noticed. The extra comfort insert pad is a nice addition, though it felt like a bit of an afterthought in its design. Instead of having specifically sized openings for the straps, it has two long slits running the length of it, which made it look a little less polished compared to the otherwise sleek design of the stroller. My 21-month-old is on the bigger side, so the insert wasn’t really necessary for him, but I can definitely see it being a cozy and helpful feature for a younger or smaller child.

Modern meets Chic

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to test this out when I got it! I immediately unpacked it and took my daughter out for a stroll around the neighborhood. I even decided to take it on our roadtrip over the weekend to a busy city with lots of hills. First impression: The backpack is beautifully designed, durable, comfortable and convenient, just HUGE and a bit heavy! Wonder who I felt like? My very own modern version of Dora the Explorer! Luckily airport jet bridges are generally short, so I wouldn’t be carrying it this way for long! Setting it up was easy and figuring out the one handed fold was quick! The only challenge is if you do have the foot rest open you will definitely need two hands to adjust that for closing. The sunshade extension and the fact that it can actually lay flat for naps is gold ! For the first time ever we were able to transfer her from the car to the stroller during her nap uninterrupted. She snoozed many more times in it during our trip , which made traveling with it so convenient. It’s truly such a great design. The material is an extra plush quick dry neoprene like fabric, which would be great for our summer days ! The removable back cushion makes it extra cushy for my girl. I only wish there was a better way to secure the back cushion , so I didn’t need to reposition it so often. The basket is sturdy and a decent size for a compact stroller. The detachable cup holder that it comes with is such a win. It fits my Owala and Stanley bottle perfectly. Now for the push. The frame is solid and it’s an easy smooth glide. The configuration of the handle is a bit odd for me. It’s pretty upright and sits high. I’m 5’1 so I’m not sure if that’s why I find the positioning of my wrists a bit awkward and uncomfortable. Another concern is that we noticed that it would get caught in between sidewalk gaps and on uneven sidewalks, which I’ve never noticed with other strollers. I’m not sure if there’s a setting to fix that asap. At one point it got stuck and my daughter flung forward. Thank goodness we had her in the seatbelt harness and the belly bar attached. Let’s also discuss the fold. It’s pretty compact , but still big and heavy . I’d love to see how the flight attendants respond when we go to place it in an overhead bin . Overall it fit great with our luggage in the trunk without the backpack. Ultimately if your looking for a compact travel stroller, this is a great option! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this stroller. We can’t wait to use it on our next trip!

Compact but doesnt skimp on sturdiness or style

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product as a part of the Stellar Product Testing panel. The Romer Lani arrived in easy to open and smooth packaging. It was also very easy and intuitive to review the parts and put together. I love the sleek black look!! It is the PERFECT small size for travel (will easily fit in overhead bin) without compromising on substantial wheels and suspension. While I haven't had time yet to take it to the airport - it held up well on bumpy paths around my neighborhood! Both my 2 year old and 4 year old can easily climb in and out. I also really like the fully extendable canopy! Perfect if someone is napping!!! The removable cupholder is great too :) My only con is the chemical off-gassing that it had to do for the first night - I left it in the garage - and the fact that the fabric is not non-tox. Overall this seems like a great travel stroller option, I love that it comes with a carrying/travel case! It seems like it would be a really great theme park stroller as well!!
