For years, I've worn Oakly Twoface sunglasses. I love the shape, but they quit making the black frames with black lenses. I scoured the internet for another quality brand that were the same or at least similar dimensions. I thought Costa Rincon or Rinconcito would be it, but they weren't as wide and were taller. After over a year of searching, I finally found the Smith Riptide. They're a little taller than the Twoface, but the width is there. I've seen some complaints regarding the lens coatung chipping, and so far I can't speak to that, but will update if they do.

Good fit and finish but impossible to clean.
Overall these glasses perform as expected, but for optics of this quality I find it extremely frustrating that the inside of the glass is always streaky even when using lens cleaner and the provided microfiber. It is like the inside of the glasses has an oilophillic coating and no matter how many times you clean them there is streaky residue left on the lens. It is ridiculous paying this price for optical clarity and constantly seeing smudges.

A bit lopsided
Glasses showed up a bit lopsided with one earpiece higher than the other.

Impressive
Nice fit and surprisingly light for a glass lens. Had the Lowdown 2 with plastic lens and these are noticeably clearer. Brown polarized lens good for all but brightest days.
