10/10 birthday gift
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got these for my brother’s birthday and he loves! The 5 inch length is fun for a young guy and he said they fit perfectly.

Disappointing for the price point
The fabric is very thin, the fit is a little boxy. I would prefer slimmer leg opening. I had to size down. What really drives me crazy is the fact that the pockets constantly stick out from under the short with just my phone in one pocket and a card holder in another. They need to be made from non stretch material or attached at the bottom. The look of that is terrible.

Checks off everything you’re looking for
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve tried shorts from Lululemon and Ten Thousand. Rhône shorts are the best in my opinion. Checks off on fit, material, durability, and feel. The 5 is short enough to enjoy in warmer weather without being too revealing.

Loved the Mako Tech—Pursuit Feels Like a Step Back
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been a huge Rhone fan for years—your quality, fit, and attention to detail have always set you apart from the pack. The Mako Tech 5” unlined shorts were my absolute favorite: the thicker, grippy exposed elastic waistband locked everything in place during workouts without any slip or adjustment needed, the material had that perfect durable-yet-lightweight hand-feel with just the right stretch, and they never rode up or felt restrictive. They were versatile for gym sessions, runs, or just everyday wear. I still hunt for resale pairs because nothing else quite matches them.
The Pursuit shorts (tried the 5” unlined) are a noticeable downgrade for me. The waistband is much thinner and more flexible with the in-or-out drawcord system—which is innovative, but it doesn’t provide the same secure, no-fuss lockdown I loved on the Mako. It feels looser and less substantial overall, and the lighter fabric, while breathable, doesn’t have the same confidence-inspiring durability or “just right” weight that made the Mako special.
It’s disappointing to see another favorite go—the Swift tanks were also incredible (super light, great layering, perfect fit), and those got discontinued too. Rhone, you’re building amazing gear and I love supporting the brand—keep innovating, but please consider bringing back the Mako Tech (or something very close to its original design). A lot of us miss that classic feel.
Hoping for a comeback—keep up the great work otherwise!

We hear you, and we’re grateful the Mako hit the mark for you. While it’s not in rotation right now, your feedback moves the needle. Flag officially raised.
