Reversible Leather Belt

My wife got me this as a gift 2 Christmases ago. This belt is great looking. Sleek, great color, pairs well with many brown shoes. Can dress it up and down. But the first and foremost job of a belt is to be the sturdy piece that holds your clothes together. For the price point, this belt is a piece of crap. $500 and the buckle can't stay together. The buckle is held together by a flimsy spring that, if set down on the floor with any more force than a dropping feather, will explode and the buckle will scatter in 5 different pieces. It has happened to me 5-6 times in the year that I've had the belt. I couldn't find the spring once and had to go get a replacement from Ferragamo. Apparently I'm not the only one who has found this to be the case, as the employee at Ferragamo said it happens quite often. Bottom line, I would NOT waste your hard-earned money on this. Go to Allen Edmonds and buy one of their belts for 1/4 the price. You'll have it for twice as long with half as many problems. I have already switched back to AE.

Definitely go up in size. Bought a 32 and 34 (both did fit) for my husband and he kept the 34, even though he typically wears a 30/31 in jeans. He is slim with no belly so keep sizing in mind. Other than that the belt was a great purchase and not as “flashy” as some other SF belts out there which made him happy!
