Pull-On Linen Pants

I bought these pants in the navy with white stripe and loved them: the linen is substantial and doesn't bag out with wear, and the stripe detail is really cute. Unfortunately, when I washed them (cold water, delicate cycle, air dry), the navy dye bled into the white stripes, which are no longer white. They're still wearable but more for around the house wear, which is very disappointing. I'd purchase the stripe styles with caution: I don't know what I could have done to prevent the bleeding, especially as I was even more cautious than the care label prescribed.
