Pleated Square Neck Cotton Poplin Midi Dress

I am a 46 year old non-teaching professional in education and I was worried this was going to resemble the early 90s "teacher-jumpers" (...IYKYK). I ordered an 8, but I maybe could have ordered a 6, although not sure my bust would have been comfortable. This goes much longer on me than the model as I am only 5'2''. There's an alteration shop outside of my local Nordstrom therefore I am going to get this hemmed a few inches so it is a true midi length while also taking some of the extra weight off of it. The square neckline is super flattering and I did the bend over test and it does not gap so no need to worry about a student, parent, or fellow staff member seeing your bits. My bra straps are on the wider side and the dress straps hide them. The weight of the dress is substantial enough that it won't show any lines of undergarments while also giving it structure. As a perimenopausal lady, I appreciate that it doesn't hug my midsection since I am increasingly self-conscious of that part of my body. I will likely use this is a warm weather dress only but if I wanted I could also wear it in the fall and winter with tights and a cardigan.
