Pleated Ankle Tapered Boiled Wool Pants

I opened the package containing these two days ago. I've worn them twice since, including not taking them off after trying them on for fit late in the day. I didn't even pull them off to cut the tags; they felt that great on my body! I would describe the texture/weight as being similar to a lightweight flannel. I have other EF boiled wool pieces, and I'd say these feel a touch heavier than my long vest (~7+ years old) or Serpentine long coat (last season.) In no way are they thick or heavy, however. I would consider these appropriate in weight to travel with, suitable for at least half the year in a moderate climate. I can be sensitive to wool so I wear it over silk (or other) long johns. This wool is less itchy than most, IMHO. I described it as teddy bear soft to my spouse and made him feel the fabric. It's a cozy texture. I think these will attract lint and pet hair, however, so be aware. The reviewer who commented on the shallow hem is spot on. It may be folded up all of 0.75 inch. Fortunately, the length is perfect for me, but I'm right on the line between regular and petite sizes (5' 3" with a very short torso so relatively long legs for my height.) As another reviewer mentioned, these are perfect for those of us with heavy thighs and broad hips. That's where I've always carried most of my weight, and these trousers feel like they were made for me. The boiled wool has a tiny bit of give to it, but I'd say a narrow waist/wide hipped figure will look good in these. (Pardon the peep of pink long underwear in my photo, please!) The pockets are well placed and large enough to be useful. These are true to size for those familiar with how Eileen Fisher lantern pants (and similar) tend to fit. EF is sized generously.
