Weighing just eight pounds, this car seat can be installed in vehicles or airplane seats with or without the base, making it ideal for families on the go.

After months of research, I selected the Nuna Pipa for a number of reasons. 1- Safety Rating 2-Car seat can be used without a base 3-Lightweight 4-Compatibility with both the BOB stroller and Uppababy Vista v2.

material makes my baby hot
I noticed that the material the car seat is made out of makes my baby sweat a lot. I don’t know if any one else had this issue. I really liked the car seat but my baby gets really hot and uncomfortable in it

Design Flaws
This is not the easiest seat to install, and there is little information out there about troubleshooting. This seat is best installed by using the latch clips on the base. However, on seats that are tilted, the latch clips have to be fully extended in order to install. This leaves no room for the base to adjust with the leveling bar located at the bottom of the base (it will just dig into the seat because the latch clips are not long enough to move any further). If the latch clips were able to lengthen, this would not be an issue. However, they are non adjustable and so in a car with tilted seats, it’s impossible to level the base when using the latch clips. I reached out to Nuna customer service for advice, and they simply repeated what was in the manual. It doesn’t seem anyone on their team is capable of helping beyond referring to what you already have available to you in the manual, sadly.

Beautiful car seat
We are so pleased with the Nuna Pipa, we were looking into getting the Nuna Lite LX but didn’t like that it doesn’t have the option to use the seat belt. I’ve been wanting it in the birch color which was sold out everywhere and was so happy when I found it at Nordstrom, it arrived quickly and is beautiful in person! Installation was super easy. I can’t wait for my daughter to use it.

Not travel friendly!
I originally bought the Pipa Lite but returned it for this model. The salesperson didn't inform me that the Lite doesn't have the ability to be hooked with a seat belt when using in different cars without the base. It pointless to get if you plan on using it to travel or to move between cars without having to move the base with it. This model definitely has more functions than the lite as well thus why it weighs more than the Lite.

nuna PIPA is great!
My son loves this car seat! It's so functional and stylish. I found it to be lighter and easier to carry than the Chicco car seat we had before. My only problem with it is that there was no instruction regarding the low birth weight pillow, it is pre-inserted into the infant insert and I didn't see that it needed to be removed after the child is 11lbs until I went to move up the straps and removed the insert. It would be nice to see that information included in the instruction manual. My son was much more comfortable after it was removed.

beautiful but short lived
Beautiful carseat but heavy and baby outgrew by the time he was six months! It says it's good for babies up to 30 pounds but my son is only 20 pounds and is already obviously uncomfortable. it's too expensive to last only 6 months.
