'Tarifa' Sandal

I bought these sandals to replace a pair of the same that I had previously that I finally wore out. The pair I replaced were 43MM (which size guide says is equivalent to a US 9.5-10), so I first ordered that size. They were too large, so I ordered the next size down 42MM (size guide said these are US 8.5-9). The smaller size worked and is not at all a tight fit. I normally take US 9.5 or 43MM in most shoes so I'd say the 42 MM is more equivalent to a US 9-9.5. Because of the sandal construction they also do stretch out a bit over time, so I'd recommend next smaller size if you're in between sizes. These are absolutely the most comfortable sandals I've ever had. You can walk long distances in them comfortably and they look great. Refined enough for resort wear, but casual enough for just hanging out. The quality of construction inside and out is superior. The only downside (a result of the design) is that the leather covered outer sole area just above the rubber bottom sole extends wider than the bottom sole and consequently the leather will wear over time, particularly at the heel. But the pluses of this sandal are much greater than this one issue.

i know how important and serious reviews are so I'll be as honest and helpful as I can. I bought these sandals in the color Brandy for my dad because he has leg issues and needs shoes that are lightweight, nice to look at, and easy to put on. He just tried them on yesterday and loved them. I will wait further to see if he still enjoys wearing the sandals or not. The only reason why I gave them 4 stars is because my dad has small feet (he's Asian) and they don't make anything smaller than 40. 39 would've been perfecto for my dad but because he actually likes them so much he's willing to wear the 40. It does have some toe space above his longest toe but because it is snug around the bottom of the ankle area I don't foresee any issues with him rubbing the back of his feet or the balls of his feet raw or anything ( as you can tell I don't know foot terminology so bear with me here). And I wish the company would make them for women too. We want sandals that are lightweight too and handmade. But we shall see. I will update this review in a couple or several months (or whenever I remember). Oh and I have heard of people complaining about the cost. Yes it is quite pricey. But in my opinion if your feet love them, then it's all worth it. Hope this helps folks.

My husband has several styles of Pikolinos, but the Tarifa Sandal is by far his favorite. This is his 4th pair and he & I were so thrilled that Nordstrom carries this brand. It's great for vacations since it is a nice casual shoe that also will travel to a nice evening without looking too much like a sandal. Both colors wear well the longer you have them.

Well constructed of high quality materials, however I had to return mine because my little toes were poking through the leather. This is the only flaw (fatal in my case) that I could find with this sandal. This is endemic to fisherman sandals. If the design on fisherman sandals would incorporate a solid piece of leather located where a persons little is located it would really solve this problem. A rep at Nordstrom said they receive a fair amount of returns because of the aforementioned issue.

Dear Nordstrom, I was very happy to find your site and buy PIKOLINOS 'Tarifa' Sandal, brown! They look very pretty, and my 46EUR size does not give you feeling that it is too big. On the contrary, it seems very elegant , outside stitching around the sole is rather an ornament than a technical part. They are made of a good leather, very light and comfortable. It will be good for an elderly person as well. You may even wear some pants with them, it will not be disharmonious.
