Phoenix Packable Straw Fedora Sun Hat

Such a cute hat! Leaving one star because this hat CANNOT crumple or squish the hat. It will never bounce back to the original shape as the description says. I've allowed a couple weeks for the hat to return to it's shape and it does not. Do not purchase this hat if you intend on packing it into luggage.

I just happened upon this hat when I was in the store. I thought about it for a bit and then ordered it online. It looks super cute on. My only complaint is that while it may be "packable," it is not "smashable." The hat arrived with several other items mashed into the box. The crown of the hat was irretrievably crunched. I exchanged it for another one at the store. The sales associate told me that to pack the hat properly I needed to form clothing around it in the suitcase to protect its shape. I actually don't think that I'll be packing this lovely hat.

Unlike the Hamptons hat (which is a bit pliable), the Phoenix is very inflexible and stiff. It felt too snug on my head and the material was scratchy. This one is not for me.

The perfect hat for me! I'm 5'3" so I look better with this size brim. It is SPF 50 and packable which makes it perfect for our summer vacations and walks outdoors. Very classy! Beautiful quality!

This hat is great-looking, but it is described as having a 3 1/2" brim. This is not the case. I was looking for protection from the sun, and this hat will not be good for that. I had to return it.

If you have thick hair, a larger head and find many hats too small, this one is for you. I love Eric Javits hats and tried the classic fedora, but it was too tight on my head. After reading another review stating the same problem, I gave this one a try. It is perfect for my needs. The brim is the right size to protect my face and hair from the sun, but not too wide. I will be wearing this a lot in large cities and it is very appropriate and stylish. It works great with all my outfits. Other reviewers have said the very same thing, so that's why I decided to try this particular hat. It's definitely what I've been looking for and I'm thrilled with my purchase.
